NEW YEAR’S LAUGHTER & GLEE

I hope your Christmas of 2017 was the best one yet. Of course, we know that there are many surprises and some you could have done without but it would not be the season if there were not surprises along the way.

Wow, is it cold?  We have so many nights that are below zero and the day’s temperature does not go up that much.  Yet, if I had a choice between snow and the cold, I would take the cold.  The sun still shines brightening my spirits and I don’t have to shovel.  I just need to layer up or bundle up as my parents would say. Driving is also much easier as long as you have a good battery.  One of the things I allowed myself was a car starter.  I have a 2004 Rav4 and it did not have an alarm so I had one installed and I got a bonus that I did not know about. I can open the garage door and push the START button from my key chain and my car starts up and gets warm without me having to go outside.  I feel like I am spoiled as I remember so many times I had to go outside and shovel before I could get to my car.  My garage in one of my extravagances that I treasure.

It has been so cold and I was wondering when the ice fisherman were going to get out on the lake.  It is wise not to go out on the ice until you see the fishermen out there.  They make a hole with a saw and can tell how thick the ice is.  Two days ago, there were two fishermen out there and today there are about 5.  They are out there without even the shelter that I see many fishermen use. That is dedication to their sport.

I think we deserve a laugh to open our hearts and heads that have been frozen due to the cold.  Since I am a senior, I laugh even harder as I know I have been in a  situation  like this with my computer and TV.

I know that this gathering was done in 2009 yet we can now see that it was  effective.  Perhaps we could all do it again, anyone up to the task?  It was 156 countries then, how many can we get now to join and get this message out: “All you need is Love”. This is truly all you need and a great way to start the New Year. Let’s spread this far and wide and watch it go viral on social media.

Do these two little girls know  something  we adults don’t?  My New Year’s wish is that all of us believe what they are telling us.  After all, It has only been a short while these two souls (or should I say one soul?) were with God, Source or whatever you call the Creator.

SOLSTICE & CHRISTMAS

Glitches are still happening but as I go with the flow, I find new things to be grateful for.  Because of impending snow, I went out early this morning to get necessary things done.  I even skipped my prayers (I can do them later) and I did half my exercises before I left.   If I don’t do part of my exercises on an empty stomach, I get feedback so I had to do that part of my regimen.  I went to Ocean State Job Lot to return 2 items and I noticed that the motorized cart was not available so I was happy that I was not doing any shopping.  As I finished returning the articles, I noticed the color purple in the distance and the motorized cart had been returned so I just had to check that color out.  I hopped on the motorized cart and sure enough, they were 3 shades of purple nice heavy dorm pants.  I put them in my cart and since the lines were quite long at the registers and everyone was trying to get their shopping done before the snow starts.  I decided I would check out a few more things and when I went down the cereal aisle, I noticed that they had the GF old fashioned oatmeal.  I have not seen it at the store in 3 months so I know it goes fast and is hard to find.  Ocean State is the only store I know of that carries that GF organic brand so I bought the 3 cases and now I am all set for winter.

I get my beef from a local farm, www.RiverRockFarm.com  that has the best beef you can buy.  It had been 5 years I had not had beef until I stumbled on this find. It is raised without antibiotics and is free range as well as being dry aged beef.  You have not eaten a hamburger until you have one from this farm. I picked up my order early before snow could set in and I can’t wait to have a hamburger. I also had a prescription to pick up so that was my morning. Now, back to compiling my newsletter to you.

How many of you were aware that 12-21-17 was quite a powerful day. Not only was it the winter solstice but it was the culmination of some powerful energy that began months ago.  This talk given by Cari L. Murphy explains it much better than I can.  Cynthia Charis also gives a meditation that you will be happy you partook of.  It took my breath away and I can’t wait to listen to it again

I hope Aldi’s starts a trend for the other supermarkets.  There are such simple solutions to Mother Earth’s ability to feed humanity.

This video reminds me of all the faces of children and adults on Christmas morning. There is no way you can escape the  feeling of happiness deep in your soul when you look at this.  And to think many hearts will be so touched in just a few days.

SURPRISES FROM YULETIDE

This has been a season of changes for me.  I tried to get one last jaunt in my kayak but the wind and water did not cooperate but I am fortunate that I can see the water from inside my home. I even rearranged my living room (again) so I can see the lake while I am sitting watching TV (as long as the night has not rolled in yet). My sofa was just too tall for me to sit and still be able to see over the back  to see my favorite reason for still being in this cold weather.

I have been in bird shock for three months as my favorite bird, the golden finch, disappeared from my feeders. Imagine feeling abandoned by wild birds. I asked many people and have called the Bird Store several times and I get the same reason.  There is so much natural food for them like berries and nuts that they are not coming to the feeders. In my 21 years here, this had never happened before. I finally gave up my search for them after all this time and a few have come back occasionally.  I surprised myself that I was so depressed because I could not see my favorite birds and I missed their molting back to the duller colors of the females. Yet…I have many other different birds like the Tufted Titmouse, White Breasted Nuthatch and Black Capped Chickadee.  I am human and do not like change but I am accepting the change (do I have a choice?)

This year is also the year of the Canadian Geese.  I awoke one morning and when I looked out; I saw an armada of around 200 geese in front of the beach.  They were not pooping on the beach though; they kept putting their butts in the air as they were pecking at grass under the water.  My local geese were there but the bulk of the geese were migrating south so they were stocking up on food under the water. One morning I was up early enough to see them all fly in formation to the lake and then watched as they parted in groups to different parts of the lake to feed near shore. The migrant ducks were here for three weeks but they have since left because of the cold, I think. I really am fortunate and have no reason to be disappointed in anything yet I do miss the antics of the golden finch. They gave me a reason to always be looking out the windows.

Do you have a loved one who only likes practical gifts?  This article gave me so much info on things that I did not know existed.  Even if I am not aware of how to use them, someone younger in my family will know.  Imagine their surprise to get one of these items and the knowledge that I will also receive.  Who knows, maybe I will get  one  of these for me.

We are in the midst of a lot of preparation for Christmas.  One preparation that you may not be aware of is the energy you can use in preparation for the Winter Solstice.  I was not aware of just what an opportunity we have at this time.  Do you remember 12-12?  Well, Archangel Gabriel is giving advice on how to use this powerful time to your best benefit. I know this is adding another thing for you to do but it can be as small as 2 minutes a day and you will be rewarded greatly. Let’s bring in the LIGHT.

Do you know someone with dyslexia?  A font has been created just for them to make it much easier for them to understand what they are reading.  Isn’t it great that we live in a time of such great inventions? Pass the  word along.

Here is a perfect example of how tragedy brought out compassion and love in 12th graders.  The children are not aware yet of the greatest lesson they ever learned from their beloved teacher. This is the true  meaning  of Christmas.

Ok, Ok, I am going down memory lane.  Isn’t that what Christmas is all about?  Do you remember your Christmases as a child?  We thought it was agonizing to wait soooo long for it to get here but we certainly did a lot of smiling.
