DOWN MEMORY LANE

Have a Blessed Hanukkah or a Happy Easter.

I woke up to a 64 degree day this morning and I thought that it must be wrong.  It turned out to be correct and I was happy to experience the warmth without the rain or the sun.  Just BE.  There is also a Blue Moon in Libra today so expect miracles, after all this weekend is all about Resurrection.  Do you know what a blue moon is?  Here is a simple explanation and the meaning behind it all.  A Blue Moon is when you have two Full Moons in a row in the same sign.

This week we have been gifted with a special occasion to remember Resurrection, the burning of Notre Dame in France. As we all watched, there was no sound from the people until the spire fell down.  Then there was a universal gasp and sound of Ooooh from all around the globe.  Sadness there was but there was also an up swelling of love that surrounded the Earth.  Notre Dame was loved so deeply and there arose a feeling of “we are going to rebuild this remarkable memorial.  It will resurrect was the main thought as people started donating to the resurrection to the tune of 6 Billion dollars.  It will take time but it will be done.  What an inspiration this is and the World comes together to revere a monument that meant so much to all of us.

Here is good news for humanity, especially those in snowy climates.  It will surely spread to encompass the whole Earth.

HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOU?

As I am sitting here, I am asking myself what DO I add to humanity or the world. As you get older, you can’t DO physically what you used to do so you start to feel like you are not adding your energy self or your being to the human race and the part that you have always played in the drama of being on earth. Of course, I am speaking about myself but do you ever feel like this?

Here it is January, a brand new year and I am obsessing over what the future will bring. What will I DO now that no one actually depends on me for anything? I only have myself to BE concerned with and when I was raising three children, I would dream sometimes of having some time for myself. Isn’t life a paradox? I believe that young children are the best model for being human. Until society steps in and programs the young minds that they need to DO to be valued, they are having a ball just BEING. They are extremely valuable just as they are as they are unique unto no other being. Don’t they bring a smile to everyone’s face no matter where they are or what they are doing? I don’t care where you are or where you go, there is hardly anyone who will not smile at the small child, no matter who they are. Grandparents know this without a doubt.

But…you don’t have to be a grandparent to enjoy or smile at a youngster, they are everywhere. There are no barriers between the adult humans who are enjoying this unique being. I am kind of giggling at myself right now as the picture of a fat, toothless and totally dependent child brings such delight but a fat, toothless and totally dependent adult does not bring out the same response in most of humanity. The only explanation I have ever been able to give to myself is that the young child is a model of youth, a new beginning. Whereas the adult is a reminder to us of our fragility and the possibility that we might be that old person someday so we choose not to notice them. Maybe we could start a new fad. A fad of smiling at all humans but especially the older ones who hold all the wisdom garnered from their lives and who helped society become what it is so that we would be enriched by what they experienced in their life. The old saying:”BE in the moment” came from our forebears and that is definitely the wisdom I wish to remember. Let us concentrate on BEING rather than DOING.

My little hooded merganser is still here. The lake is more thawed out, at least for now, and it is busy diving under the water and getting its food. As I open the drapes every day, I have been looking to see where he is in the lake. It started me thinking about how this little duck is all alone, there is not another one like it around anywhere. They have all gone south for the winter. I wondered if it felt alone or was concerned about its future especially with the single digits here for a while and its food source would be under ice. In fact, as I write this, the lake closest to me has developed a film of ice on it. We do humanize animals especially in videos but perhaps this hooded merganser is a model for me to just live in the moment as the future is not here yet so there is nothing I can DO. It is also a test for me to trust that this little life is in God’s hands not mine.

As I was getting my coffee, I looked out the kitchen window and noticed a female cardinal at my feeder. This is the first time in 20 years that a cardinal has come because my feeder is designed just for the smaller birds. If the bird is as heavy as a cardinal perches on it, it closes the gate to the seeds. The female cardinal kept chasing away the smaller birds and kept going around the feeder and looking up as if to say: “why can’t I get any food when these other birds can?” As I watched, the male cardinal showed up and he also sat on the feeder. In a few minutes they both flew off but when something unusual happens with animals or birds, I go to my book Animal-Speak by Ted Andrews which is a dictionary of animal, bird and reptile symbolism. The keynote or condensed symbolism of the Cardinal is: Renewed Vitality through Recognizing Self-Importance. What a reminder to me that EVERYONE is important and has an important role to play even if they do not recognize it. I want to remind you that YOU have an important role to play and YOU are here for a purpose even if YOU don’t know it.

2017 is a Banner Year, The Year of the Phoenix and you are an important part of it.

CLARITY OF VISION AND THE SPOKEN TRUTH ONLY

We have finally finished with the conventions for the President Elect for both parties. Although informative it was still bombarding the airwaves. Wow. Have you heard that we are already moving into the 7th dimension? I have been focusing on the movement into the 5th dimension when somehow, when I wasn’t looking, the freedom to move much higher was here all the time. It is a reminder to me not to put myself in a box and allow my wings to explore ALL that is possible. I feel much like a butterfly who thought she was already out of the cocoon but was just dreaming it while still being in the cocoon. I will be reminding myself more often to just be in the moment and not putting myself into a dimensional category. Here is some info of what we have to look forward to.

Do you know what I like about storms? Sometimes they are frightening and most times you need to stay inside shelter but the best part comes afterward. RAINBOWS! Storms do not have to be just about the weather although right now my part of the earth is happy to receive the much needed rain. I believe in my heart that mental storms cause much more damage than nature’s storms. Have you noticed that although Earth has been inundated with storms either water or fire, there is very little loss of life? Mother Earth is trying to bathe and clean herself but is very aware of humans and does her best to protect us. A rainbow after the storm just gives more proof that we are so loved.

Have you ever said yes to someone or something to keep peace or avoid confrontation? I have although I do it less and less now. I finally love myself and my peace of mind more than just following other people’s ideas. Yours’s and my point of view is sacred.
