I GIVE THANKS

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving

I give thanks for all the gifts this world and humanity offers me. There are so many that it would take my entire newsletter to mention them all by name. I give thanks for you, my reader and for the opportunity to share with you once a week, the things that touch my heart. You are quite a diverse group. All ages, sexes, religions, beliefs or non-beliefs having profound different arenas in your life. I like to think of my newsletter group as being members of humanity in unity but not in identification. You are each special and unique and bring your own gifts to the mix. Thank you for being YOU and for allowing me to share who I am with you.

Hey, check out the new banner for my newsletter. This was created by Barry Costa, a very dear friend who is quite the creator himself. What a surprise this was and so apropos for me. You see he is another gift that I am thankful for.

I am being given a special gift from Mother Nature as the birds and ducks are doing a dance ensemble right in the water and on my tree. First I saw the pileated woodpecker, the larger one with the red head and then the smaller downy woodpecker come for food. I usually never see them together and they did their dance as they climbed all the branches but were clever at avoiding each other. It was definitely musical and eye catching. Even a male cardinal came and perched on a branch for a while before flying away. Usually I see him only on the ground under the feeders. Of course, my regulars, the golden finch, sparrow, black capped chickadee, tufted titmouse and white breasted nuthatch were visiting for their thanksgiving breakfast.

I am being given a water show right here in front of my deck on the lake. I, of course, am inside as it is quite chilly right now. This does not happen all the time and usually only a few times a year and I feel very fortunate if I happen to be home to view this majesty. When I first opened my blinds, there were only 4 Hooded Mergansers right in front and what I thought was strange was that there were 3 males and one female and I don’t believe this is mating season. Then about 15 Canadian Geese showed up who are about 5 times bigger than the mergansers but the little ducks are not fearful and they mingle with them as they keep diving for food while the geese are just swimming.

I did my meditation and then had breakfast when all of sudden there was a flurry of excitement out my window. I had only seen the hooded mergansers once a week ago and I haven’t seen them since so this was a surprise. I had assumed that they had left on their migration. There must have been 24 hooded mergansers, plopping in and out of the water. What a sight that is, there appears to be no ducks out there and all of sudden they pop us and there are about 24 of them. It still thrills me to watch all of them go plop, plop, plop down into the water and then they pop up further down the lake. This morning they had an intruder, Oscar, the seagull who was among them. Sometimes, they surrounded him but they did not do it deliberately as their only interest was to dive down and get the little fish that were swimming in pods. Of course, Oscar wanted some too, so he would spread his wings to fly to get his food from one of the mergansers but even though he is at least twice as big as the hooded merganser, he never catches the food as they just simply dive down into the water and come up somewhere else.

This morning there was a switch though, Oscar is usually all alone but there was a smaller seagull a ways away just sitting calmly on the water and did not even have her head extended like Oscar did. I am assuming it is a female as it was smaller and much calmer. She was nearer another batch of mergansers but did not even move to be closer to them. Perhaps Oscar was trying to impress her by getting her some food. From what I could see, he did not succeed.

Suddenly more Canadian geese showed up and now there were about 45 of them. Some were preening on the edge of the beach and some were out in the water appearing to be bathing as they would lift one wing and then tilt into the water submerging more of their bodies in the water. They did not appear to notice the smaller mergansers that were diving in the water around them. How wonderful it is to see all these species getting along in the same area of water. All of a sudden, a little merganser was beating his wings furiously but remaining in the water and set out after another duck. After this happened about 5 times, I could not tell which duck it was, they all look the same except the difference between male and female, one of the ducks hightailed it a lot further away as if to say, I am leaving as I am not winning this bout. After about 2 hours, they all dispersed and were no longer right in front of my bow window where I could see them without my binoculars. I had planned to watch Macy’s parade but this parade was even more special for me today.

This was such an unusual show and I was touched by it happening on Thanksgiving. Mother Nature is so vast and I am so grateful to consider that I am part of her family on this special day. I wanted to share it with you also, so you will glimpse parts of your family that love to share themselves with you. I am so grateful for all of my family members of which you are a part of. Enjoy your Thanksgiving regardless of whom you share it with, you are never alone. I am sending you the peace and joy I received from the birds and ducks; feel it, accept it. You deserve it too.

ARE YOU OUR FUTURE?

Please join me in welcoming the beautiful souls that have joined this newsletter group. It was awesome to meet them at the Natural Living Expo this past weekend. Thanks to all of my followers who came to see me, get a reading or just get a hug. It warms my heart right down to my toes and beyond. I met so many diverse beings who all carry their puzzle piece to this vast puzzle called Earth. You know that your unique piece of the puzzle will only fit in a certain place within the puzzle. Nobody can take your place or offer to others the love from your mission and you cannot take anyone else’s place either. I am waiting for the last piece to fall into place and then we will ALL see what God, Higher Power, All That Is, Creator, etc. created and WHY.

For those who were at the Expo, I was sent a short video of some of the people who were there. Perhaps you will find yourself or someone you know. It is only 2 minutes long and a picture of me is at 55-57 on the bar, perhaps it is you I am giving you a reading and healing to? Sending it for your enjoyment or curiosity.

I need to admit that last week’s newsletter contained some fear and it was mine. I was responding to the deep sadness that humanity was feeling as we all were hoping for some miracle to happen pertaining to the elections. When I received the email about the petition concerning the Electoral Vote that morning, I reacted from the feeling that if I did not know that the Electoral voters had not voted yet that there was still a chance that the outcome might change, I wanted to spread that knowledge far and wide. I did not take the time to breathe or go deeper or pray on it. For that I apologize to all of you. My motto is to accept what is and look for the brighter side of which there is always one. I guess a little piece of me forgot that and simply reacted. I guess I pulled a “Trump”. I still deeply believe that the electoral vote is way out of date and does not reflect the true popularity vote and I would love to see it repealed.

Did you watch the 60 Minutes Show where Trump and his family were interviewed? I sat there with my mouth wide open. Where did this man come from? Why did we not see this side of him during the 18 months of his travels and speaking? I kept shaking my head and asking from the depths of my soul, who this was? This man will not do everything in the way I would like, but he will do it thoughtfully and with respect for others with no denigrating the ones who oppose him. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train.

My little dobblers as I call them are here. They are the small transient ducks that use my lake as a resting feeding ground and their way South. They have finally come and I laugh as I watch them going up and down into the water to get their food. They are so fast that they are hard to count because they are not all up on top of the water at the same time. This morning I counted 18 of the Hooded Mergansers. These are my favorite because the males have like a white hood on the top of their heads and they are much easier to spot than their brown female counterparts. I look forward to seeing them each fall and each spring. They remind me so much of childhood that it makes me smile. Remember that a smile is very similar to a yawn as both open passageways to the brain with their special chemicals. They are feel good actions we can take as our body does not know the difference between a fake smile and yawn than real ones. So it responds positively and guess what? I no longer get insulted when people yawn because now I know that they are giving me a gift of the moment to imitate them and give my body some relaxation. They are both contagious so spread the peace and joy everywhere you go.

I know that a good deed spreads love to others but I still am pleasantly surprised when it blossoms into something even bigger. I have so much hope for our future with these young ones being our future.

Our youth are showing us older ones what must be done to bring peace. When I went to China, I was on a train not only with goats and chickens but with ordinary Chinese people. I did not have google but I had a book that would translate our languages. I sat with a mother and 2 teenage children and we “spoke’ to each other by finding and pointing at words in the others’ language. It was so much fun and I learned as well as they did. I still do not know how to use google like that but if I ever go to a country with a different language, I will definitely learn Google. It would be so much more fun. Enjoy this video.

A POSSIBILITY OF FREEDOM

What a week of ups and downs this has been. Tuesday night I went to bed at 11:30PM, not waiting for the election results. The next morning I did something I never do, I put the TV on before I did my prayers or even ate breakfast. My heart sank but worst of all, this incredible sadness came over me. An American Muslim said it best. He said” I feel like this is the morning after 9-11”. I had no tears, the sadness was too deep. Not because a Republican won but because of who he is. He is not a good representative of what America is all about. He is a bully, a racist, a bigot and refuses to follow any rules, including the one about declaring his tax return. How come everyone else had to but he did not. You do not hide things unless there is something to hide. He does not even represent the Republican Party as there is no Republican that does not honor America or what it stands for. He spews out the energy of his superiority over any other living being and their well fought for laws.

Worst of all, he did not receive the majority vote, the most popular vote. Do you know of any clubs or organizations that do not follow the majority rule? I don’t. Every meeting held in this country follows that rule from the home, schools, sororities, clubs, small town governments, etc. In the United States, it is the law even in the courtroom with the juries. From the time we are little, we are taught that majority rules. Why does that not apply to voting rights? I feel so sad that my vote might be worth less or more than another person’s just because we do not live in the same state.

The electoral might have been fair many years ago before the advent of TV or the internet. But in these days, it is totally unfair. For years I have been upset with the electoral vote as it is racist and contrary to what we believe and that is in equality for every person in every aspect in America. WE are the land of the free.

Do you realize that the majority of votes that Trump received were from white males? Does that sound like the Ku Klux Klan? The Klan were bullies who made themselves superior to all who they decided were worthless so they could be done away with by any means possible while hiding their faces. Doesn’t that sound like what Trump did? To me, he is a perfect example of that. I, for one, do not want any person to think he is above the Law. Do you realize that Trump is of the 1% who is running this country today (or trying to anyway)? Do you think he cares about you or your concerns? Will you join me and millions of others to stop this raid on our government and our individual power? If enough of us pursue this opportunity we have, we will definitely make our wishes known to the ones who have been blind sighted.

I received this email last night that brought a little light or possibility that we who have the majority vote might still have a chance to bring America back from the brink of disaster.

Politicians wonder why the attendance at voting is low and that is because we have discovered that our vote is actually worthless. Why bother to vote when it doesn’t count anyway. WE, as Americans, have been brainwashed into being apathetic. I still believe in the vote being the ONE thing that has been fought for and died over so that we will be free. Let’s change that apathy and prove that EACH vote is important and worthy to be counted. WE are one Nation and so each person is important and irreplaceable.

During my prayer time this morning, I could not stay in the peace and tranquility, my mind kept bring me back to the injustice that this member of the Ku Klux Klan is bringing to bear on the people of America. This morning I received this email which opened up even more possibilities. I am not alone and neither are you. We are strong as this email shows. Will you join us and let your voice be heard this time?

I realize that my subject for today has not been one of the most uplifting ones yet we need to know who and what we placing our trust in and what we can do about it. There is an uplifting when we find a possible solution and it is simple to do.

I was given a good suggestion for lifting our moods and it is so true. Go to You tube and put in “Children Laughing” and then watch your mood shift. Children are the innocent ones and the heart up-lifters.
