MIRACLES ARE AT WORK

New inventions are a lot of work.  Our scientists work day after day to conquer our problems with such devotion and they do come up with things that sound impossible.  In fact, you have worked hard at some problem only to come up with a solution that you never expected and it came when you were not actively working at it. I love when that happens.  Not only because it is such a grand solution but because it also reminds me that humans are not infallible and there is a grander energy working “through” us.  Doesn’t it restore your  faith  just a little?

When you are in your youth, faith seems to be so much easier.  Yet, it does take the human touch to create the “miracle”.

I wonder what I would have heard if I had been there.  Yesterday I went for a hearing aid appointment and I have to say, I was in awe the whole two hours.  The last time I checked into hearing aids was 55 years ago and I jumped when Beltone tested my supposedly “deaf” ear.  I had not ever heard a sound in that ear so it completely surprised.  After 5 years, no hearing aid could help me anymore so I have been deaf in that ear for 50 years.  Now my other ear needs some help but things have changed so much.  They are so much smaller even if they are over the ear and no more hard plastic ear mold, it is just a wire with a small bulb at the end so I was not even aware that it was in there.  I was told to go shopping for a half hour and then come back.  When they first started the hearing aid, all I could hear was like waves of winds and my voice sounded tinny.  It was disconcerting but I held on.  I went to the bathroom and was so surprised to experience sound when I moved my clothes.  I did not know that there was sound when you dressed or undressed????

I ran into a woman who I worked with 17 years ago so we had a chat and at the end I did not even realize that my tinny voice sounded normal and the wind sound was gone. Costco had to order my hearing aid so I had to give this one back to them.  My mouth dropped open when the sounds went totally flat.  It was like when you take cotton out of your ears or when your ear suddenly pops after being blocked and you can hear again but even more drastic than that.  I guess I did not know what I was missing until I had something to compare it to.  When reading this article, I wondered what I would have  heard  if I had been wearing the hearing aid and was there when the alarm went off.

CHALLENGES & LAUGHTER

I just spent an hour and a half talking to Amazon.  Yes, talking!  It took me a while to find a phone number.  I had ordered a walker on 11/15 from Amazon and was sent a tracking number so I could keep track of its progress.  I got a couple of emails that it was on its way.  Finally I got an email saying they thought it might be lost so I could either get a refund or a replacement.  Since I already paid for it on my credit card, I did not want to have to pay twice for it sensing it would be a challenge to straighten that mess out.  I called UPS to find out what happened only to find out that they never received the walker so it was never sent.  Why was I getting all these emails of a late delivery from Amazon?  So I decided to call them this morning before I wrote my newsletter to you.

What happened next exceeded my expectation.  The young girl handling my problem kept excusing herself for a minute every time I had a question.  Well, I decided that I had a new trainee who was learning the ropes about customer service.  She was from another country and had a deep accent which made correspondence difficult.  I decided to be gracious and not demand to speak to a supervisor. I insisted on receiving an email confirming my refund and also the fact that I never received the package.  The first email gave me the refund but insisted that I return the package and how to do just that.  I kept repeating myself to her that I wanted confirmation of non-delivery and finally I got another email but this one just said they were sorry I had a problem with the walker (not the delivery).

After being on the phone with this young woman for an hour and a half, I finally gave in and asked to speak to her supervisor.  More wait time on hold.  Finally I got to speak to Joe who listened and suggested I reorder and when I persisted for more info, he admitted they had no more of that color.  I insisted that I did not want another color so please could I have an email confirming non delivery.  He said he would send it to me but I insisted that I receive it while I still had him on the phone.  He sent the email finally and then apologized for the long phone call and explained that she was a new trainee.  I had already figured that out and my ordeal is an example of the difficulties of two people who speak a different language.  I was wrung out emotionally from that so that is why this newsletter is a little later than normal.  This following video from Aluna clarifies why we humans are going through scenes like this that bring us these challenges.

This is a story and a video that I have watched it 5 times; it is that funny and that good.  You cannot help but  laugh  and this is just what I need now. Perhaps it will help you too.

Tis the season to be kinder to each other.  This woman goes to the top of being kind.  Perhaps this story might help each of us be aware of being neighborly and patient when we get stuck in the airport.

Do you believe in miracles?  I do and I am eager to see this be a natural event for all of us that need it.

THANKSGIVING – GIVING THANKS

HAPPY THANKSGIVING – GIVING THANKS MAKES ME HAPPY

What a play on words this is.  A truth displayed for ALL to see and hear. I give thanks for you; I honor you for the opportunity that you give me to be myself. Without you, I would not be the transmitter of GOOD NEWS which in turn allows me to be the instrument of a Higher Power.

Even the numbers are in resonance with TRUTH.  The signs are everywhere and Mother Earth is using all her methods of communication to speak to you.  Let’s take a moment to absorb the Love that is shining through every available portal opening at this time.

Let us be in the attitude of gratitude. What is the attitude of gratitude?  How can we feel it even amidst the pain we might be feeling?

What mother would not do what this woman did?  You would do the same thing if you were physically in this situation, you would offer love to the child and to the mother who was hurting for her child. Mother Earth  would do the same thing for you if she was allowed.

And….it is not only adults feeding children; it is the children feeding each other.  It is simply one human being helping another human being at this particular moment in time.  We have all done this at one time even if we have forgotten.  It is one human being helping another human being while sharing the same planet as our home.

This article reminds me of the lowly Turkey vulture who is so ugly with his bald head but oh so grandiose in the sky as he soars majestically. His head needs to be bald as he is the garbage collector who keeps our Earth free of all the dead carcasses. We cannot judge a book by his cover nor should we.  WE (which is you) are so badly needed to be just who we are.
