IS HAPPINESS YOURS FOR KEEPS?

Beloved,

Summer is finally here even if only for a short while. It was 45 degrees last night but today is already 70 degrees so the cool nights are not too bad. I love to kayak which I can do most of the year but going in the water is something else. Once the nights get warmer around 55-65 degrees, the water warms up. It is the warm nights that warm the water and why the water cools down even if the days are in the 80’s.I am enjoying going in the water because it seems to be such a short time before fall is here.

Do you remember when I used to tell you about the Canadian geese and my attempts to keep them from coming to our beach? If it wasn’t for their poop, they would be more welcome. Well, another crusader to ban the geese has come to take over for me. She is our new treasurer and is adamant that she is tired of raking up the poop and will find a way to deter them. She wanted to try the whirly gigs that turn with a breeze so I offered mine to her to try so she wouldn’t have to buy them. They work well for me when the baby geese are small and they crawl under the fence. Since they can’t fly, the parents need to come over the fence and herd them back, leaving their markings on my grass. This year I did not need to use them as the babies did not come that close to the fence, maybe the geese parents remember and keep them from it now. Since I had tried them on the beach and they did not work, I did not hold out too much hope but she wanted to try.

I watched as the geese stayed in the circle of water created by the buoys that keep boats out of the swimming area. They would venture forward to see what would happen and when nothing did, they proceeded as usual. Yesterday I noticed something brown on the beach and it seemed hunched over but I could not make out the details even with my binoculars. So I went out this morning to see exactly what it was. I had been watching the geese and they were staying away from it except for one who decided he was going to be the one to test the waters. There is always one in every crowd, isn’t there, that will go where no one else wants to go? I was chuckling as slowly he would get closer and nothing happened. The other geese settled on the beach further away but this one decided to pretend to be eating the grass as it inched closer and closer to this thing. When nothing happened and that thing did not move, they all settled down to munching.

I thought it was worthy of chuckles so I wanted to share it with you. I went down to see what it actually was and it turned out to be a plastic coyote or fox. It was hard plastic and hunched over in body form with the face close to the ground with a snarling mouth that show teeth and the tail was dragging on the ground. That made me laugh at loud. If a decoy does not move, it is not real to the predator. This coyote/fox needed to be higher up so the breeze could make it move. A couple of years ago (before this person was on board), we had tried a fox/coyote as they were supposed to scare geese away. We tried only one on one side of the beach to see if it would work. This one had fur and the head moved and so did the beautiful fur tail when the wind would blow. It had seemed to be working, at least on one side of the beach and all of a sudden, it disappeared. Someone stole it and we never did find it again. This woman is very dedicated to getting rid of the geese and I had told her all we had done but nothing worked. I had suggested a floating swan as geese are afraid of it and one of our neighbors has put one in the water near their raft and it appeared to work. The movement of the water made it move around so the geese never knew where it would be. Perhaps her next attempt will be a swan. I hope so as I feel that will work but it is great to have someone trying so hard to alter this one drawback of having a beach. I cannot chase the geese anymore as I can’t walk that much without pain. They used to know my voice and if I hollered “GO” from my deck they would leave most of the time. But they are smart and they would test me occasionally to see if I would actually walk down there to scare them away. I used to carry a pail so I could throw water at them which would make a splash and frighten them. Yet they knew when I wasn’t home. They would even see me leave so they could come and when my car turned on the street, they would skedaddle. They are smart and good adversaries. Animals are so much fun unless they are invading your territory.

GET-TOGETHER IN COMPASSION

Beloved,

This 4th of July was the best one I have experienced since I moved here. Because the lake makes the shooting of fireworks that much safer, the people around the lake really get into the Holiday and offer a beautiful selection. One house went on for 45 minutes and the fireworks were the caliber of the finest show anywhere. The other homes went into competition with one another afterwards; shooting one off and then letting the other side of the lake shoot one off. There were quite a few boats out on the lake so they could get a really wide view of the activities. I could have gone out in my kayak but I decided I enjoy them more by sitting on my chaise lounge with my neck at the just the right angle. In the kayak, I need to keep looking up to see them and end up with a stiff neck. What made it the best for me was the fact that there were no shooting off of fireworks before the night of the 4th and there were no loud booms after 11 pm. Usually there is at least a week of the loud noises when I least expected it so I was not able to view the extravaganza. There usually is a lot of noise after I go to bed so my sleep was disturbed for about a week. Like I said, this was a wonderful holiday where we all joined in the enjoyment of the celebration on the day it was intended for. I hope you enjoyed the family gatherings and the camaraderie of friends on this occasion.

I don’t go in the water as often as I used to. I don’t do as much physical activity around the house to work up a sweat when I would use the lake as a quick cool down and rejuvenation to get me back to work around the yard. We have had some 90 degree days so I finally went in the water and as I do each year, I wonder why I waited so long to jump in. It is so much more fun if someone is with you. I think because I can experience the lake all day or any day since I am retired that I don’t feel the need to go in as much and I do kayak which I enjoy.

The geese now number 25 with only 6 new babies this year. I see more of the older geese being allowed to join in with the two families. Not right in but along with and on the side. It is like the others who are not parents are being protective while the parents are busy herding the young ones. I miss the regular ducks and there are not as many although the ducks and the geese do mingle. Can you tell I want it all! (smile).

This year was a whirlwind of Baltimore Orioles feeding on the jelly feeders at the beginning.. All of sudden, they were no longer coming and the catbirds, which like jelly, took over. Occasionally I see an Oriole flying by but they no longer stop and I have no idea why. The hummingbirds are prolific this year. I even have two to three females who eat at the same feeder. They look like females but perhaps they are just the babies growing up. I laugh at the male hummingbird as he tries so hard to “protect” his feeder from intruders. He puffs up and sits on the feeder, warning all not to come. Yet they still come and he goes away for awhile. One of my feeders out of the three needs to be refilled three times more than the other two. And…that is the one that the male tries so hard to protect.

The energies are so strong right now and it is showing up in so many ways and in so many different dramas. Remember, we cannot bring our “garbage” with us to the 5th dimension. That is why all the things we resist or are not willing to address will pop up so we deal with them in order to clear your body with love. There is no more resistance, just breathe and be in that particular moment and know that it is given with love. Love yourself and love will easily flow from you to the world and all of humanity.

Pt’aah gave this quote today to help us with the intensity. State: “From the God/Goddess of my being, I desire that that which is not aligned come forth in a gentle fashion that I may come into this expansion without the dire circumstances and pain and anguish”.

Are you concerned about your “belly”? I know mine has extended and I feel a fullness that I haven’t felt since I was pregnant many, many years ago. This was quite an interesting article and has info that will give you another aspect of your belly, whether you are male or female.

SAVOR THE 4TH OF JULY, 2015

Beloved,

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 4TH!

It has been very quiet this year, I have only heard one boom and tomorrow is the holiday. Usually they start two weeks ahead and stay at it for two weeks after especially the younger generation. I love the fireworks but am satisfied with only one night of the loud noise. I am sure the animals appreciate the quiet especially the birds.

I am looking forward to kayaking this weekend and also trimming the bushes. It feels so good to have some warmth in the air, it is invigorating. I also like seeing and hearing the laughter of the children playing on the beach and in the water. Nine months of the year, I have the beach to myself and hardly see any of my neighbors. The summer gives us all the opportunity or excuse to stop and enjoy the weather and all the cookouts. Enjoy the comradery of the season and the time spent doing nothing but enjoying yourself and others.

Sometimes I like to read about our past as humans. It always amazes me to discover that we are now discovering just how much wisdom we had in the past ages that are still valid today. In my heart, I believe that the Aborigines’ and Natives of all countries already had the wisdom that our medical profession and religions are seeking today. I am grateful for all the advances we have made as a civilization (like the clothes dryer) yet our human past is fascinating to rediscover.

Gregg Braden is a scientist who is quite brilliant. Years ago, I could not understand what he was talking about yet he has achieved a way of explaining the miracles that we live with everyday into everyday language that we all can now understand. This conference explained many of things that still puzzle me or that I wonder about. It also shows him as quite a humane figure with a sense humor although he talks about deep beliefs and explanations of the mundane. He gives us much hope for our future.

I am sure you have heard the word “light worker”. Have you ever wondered what it meant and if you are one? Here is a fantastic explanation of what it means. See if it resonates with you.

Our young people are so creative and willing to look at many things differently. By doing so, he created an awareness that will save many people quite a sum of money. How many ideas do you have every day that you poohpooh? I am so proud of our youth and its willingness to change how we perceive.

Here is another great idea that I never would have thought of. The human mind is so impressive. These inventions are confirmation that EACH of us carries a gift for the rest of the world.
