THE UNDERSTATED AFFECTION OF FATHERS

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and those who assume that role!

As a woman, I cannot fully understand fatherhood but I know it when I see it, or so I thought.  I finally realize that that when I saw affection between father and son, that it was the perfect expression of fatherly love. This article will bring new light to this subject and I hope you can let the light bulbs of recognition go off.

Speaking of dads and their roles in all of our lives, I had quite an eye opener with the Canadian Geese.  I have been watching them on my lake for 20 years or more but I never “noticed” what I saw the other day.  The swimming area is cordoned off by buoys and it makes a safe place for the children away from boats.  This particular morning, I happened to notice a lot of activity in this safe area.  There are 15 new baby geese and 6 new parents.  I can’t tell the male from the female but I know there are always 6 adults with the three families of geese.  When the geese are babies, the parents are wary of any other adults but as they grow, the families start to come together like in a community.

This particular morning, I noticed so many more adults with the babies and the adults kept taking turns in putting their head and neck down into the water and aiming themselves as a straight body across the water, then the wings flap a lot and fast.  Then I noticed the young ones imitating the adults and I realized that they were in basic training. They were being trained in offense and defense tactics.  ALL the adults were participating including those that were not the parents.  They were acting as a well-oiled community.  It made me realize that we humans don’t belong to communities anymore and I felt so sad.  Growing up in a small town, that was what I knew and now I am acutely aware that my grandchildren do not have that security.  Let’s bring back the communities. Families are so very important and every member is very important.

This is graduation time all over our country.  A very special message came from this young man. He had a brother who was his father figure.  Hooray for the men who  stand up  when needed.

Could you do this?  I can’t even bring the Rubik cubes to fruition let alone while juggling. Notice the father or father figure at the end of this effort.

DARE TO BELIEVE

I love this time of the year.  I get to kayak around the lake and watch it wake up.  So far, just about all the pontoon boots are at the docks and a few are being used.  The fishermen are out in their small boats and a few kayaks are seen now.  There are no buoys out yet that protect swimmers although we have had a few brave souls who could not wait for the water to get warmer.  I have walked at the water edge of the lake but it is still too cold to let the water come up higher on my legs. One big improvement has taken place though.  There was only one broken down cottage that had been condemned that has sat there for the 22 years I have been here.  It was always sad to go by there with its broken windows and overgrown landscape.  I got to talk to the new owner who will be using the now vacant lot on the water as his beach front. My joy of being here on the lake is to see and hear the laughter and fun that the children and adults are having. We still have a few homes for sale but the energy of peace is complete now around the lake.

How is your intuition?  For years I have felt comfortable in using what I called my intuition with the help of kinesiology (muscle testing).  Lately, both seem have to have left me and I have found out that everyone’s intuition has changed modality.  I used to ask questions expecting answers from the masters or my team but now I have to create the new habit of knowing that I do know the answers and to listen to my heart more closely for the correct answer. Instead of depending on outside assistance, all I need do is to go inside of myself. The masters and my team are still here but they are the ones who ask: How can we help you? What would you like to create? Then they wait for us to answer and they will help us do whatever we say. They no longer give us the answers as we are still in training as Masters ourselves.

Look what happens when a child dares to ask.  What a lesson for us older people.

This is a subject that most people avoid talking about.  I am glad someone had the courage to speak up about it.  Have you ever even considered a poop transplant?  There is even a $400 test that can tell you what irritates your stomach.  It may not be the same for everyone but then you would know for sure what to eat and what not to eat. Dare to read about this.

Have you ever wished time to stop?  For me, I only wished it when I was having so much fun; I wished it would never end.  But of course, it did. I listened to this twice and plan to do it again because there is so much food for thought in this video.

DAY OF LOVE REMEMBERED

Spring has Sprung.  We have all been holding our breath waiting for the warmth and new growth to show up.  The other day I was sitting in my living room with the storm door open and the screen door was letting in the warm air, it smelled so good. I had the kitchen window open opposite the door and I could actually hear the birds singing.  It felt like the perfection I had been waiting so long for. I could just sit and breathe it all in.  We have been waiting so long to feel this free with nature. I have been out kayaking and trying to get out when the wind is calm but Mother Nature is having fun with me.  It starts calm and then when I get to the last mile, the wind picks up and then the water gets its waves and it is a lot tougher to get back home. One day I fooled her and went out in the kayak when the waves and wind were strong.  I just sat in my kayak and let the waves rock me like the wind was rocking me in a rocking chair.  I did not get far but I had a lot of fun.

Happy Mother’s Day!  What a model for mother’s love is Mother Teresa.  This is a note that was found hanging on her wall.  Forgiveness and Love were prominent in her life, can we imitate her?  I bet we can and guess what, we already do. Look and you shall find.
