BULLIES AND MIRACLES

I know I am late, would you believe that I was hacked.  Let me warn you that my message said it was from Microsoft and told me if I shut my computer down, that I would face possible release of all my info like my credit card info.  I am grateful that I was aware enough not to call the number.  My computer was locked so I did not know what to do.  I went to the phone book to check if there was a number for Microsoft that I could call to see if this was a scam.  There was no number but I did start to look at my computer books to see if there was a number in there for Microsoft. .

Then…..I realized that I had a human angel named Barry Costa who is a miracle worker with the computer. I called him and left a message explaining what had happened.  He called me back and proceeded to guide me through some steps.  There is such a thing as TeamViewer where I can give him access to my computer while I can see exactly what he is doing.  He lives in Maine and I am in Massachusetts. It was something that would not let us delete it, I was told that it is a sign that you are not in control and your computer is always under your control unless it has been invaded which mine had.  He really had to maneuver and manipulate around in the computer to finally get rid of the invader.  I am so grateful for him and for his expertise.  He is also a miracle worker with energy so he is an incredible energy healer. Me saying he is a human angel does not even do him justice. Saying Thank you feels like so little for what he accomplished for me. I feel so fortunate to have a friend like him, he feels like family.

I went to the next Selectmen’s meeting where the answers to our questions were supposed to be presented to us.  There was a 9 page letter of answers but mostly the letter touted the supposed achievements of the Director of the Senior Center.  Truth was manipulated and there were some downright lies.  As we had not been given these answers before the meeting, we had had no chance to read them but just to quickly peruse them.  The Selectmen tried their best to bring an end to this situation and I had been hoping for a peaceful resolution myself.

I was contemplating the notion of stopping this madness quite a bit, until I went to play cards again with my league.  During our game, the director came out and spoke to us saying: “I am hurt that you did not come to me with your problems, blah, blah, blah.  She proceeded to pass around to each table, copies of her answers and put extra ones on the middle round table which we were not playing cards at.  Then she proceeded to put on the table, copies of only the people’s signatures that had signed my complaint form but with 13 names CROSSED OUT. She had the gall to cross out people’s names so there would be less signatures on my complaint.

Needless to say, I was floored.  She had no right to violate the privacy of the people who had signed and no right at all to cross off the names on a legal document and display them to the public.  Although the signatures had been attached to my complaint as that is necessary for some of the people in power who are involved. I felt what she did to be a violation of privacy.

After the league was done playing cards, I apologized to the people as I was so deeply saddened that they had been subjected to that embarrassment.  Some were furious with  what she had said and done. They said there was no reason for my apology but I felt it so deeply that tears had come to my eyes.  Now, at my age, I usually only cry when I am happy so this came as a surprise to me. I am not in the mood anymore to make peace with someone who is so vindictive to our seniors.  I am now planning to go forward with my complaints so more people in charge will discover what is happening to our Seniors. Am I increasing the situation, am I resisting thus creating more chaos or will this come to a peaceful end?  I still feel like it is a mirror of World Politics on a local level.  What is the answer?  Look at what happened in Syria and what our countries’ response was.

A POSSIBILITY OF FREEDOM

What a week of ups and downs this has been. Tuesday night I went to bed at 11:30PM, not waiting for the election results. The next morning I did something I never do, I put the TV on before I did my prayers or even ate breakfast. My heart sank but worst of all, this incredible sadness came over me. An American Muslim said it best. He said” I feel like this is the morning after 9-11”. I had no tears, the sadness was too deep. Not because a Republican won but because of who he is. He is not a good representative of what America is all about. He is a bully, a racist, a bigot and refuses to follow any rules, including the one about declaring his tax return. How come everyone else had to but he did not. You do not hide things unless there is something to hide. He does not even represent the Republican Party as there is no Republican that does not honor America or what it stands for. He spews out the energy of his superiority over any other living being and their well fought for laws.

Worst of all, he did not receive the majority vote, the most popular vote. Do you know of any clubs or organizations that do not follow the majority rule? I don’t. Every meeting held in this country follows that rule from the home, schools, sororities, clubs, small town governments, etc. In the United States, it is the law even in the courtroom with the juries. From the time we are little, we are taught that majority rules. Why does that not apply to voting rights? I feel so sad that my vote might be worth less or more than another person’s just because we do not live in the same state.

The electoral might have been fair many years ago before the advent of TV or the internet. But in these days, it is totally unfair. For years I have been upset with the electoral vote as it is racist and contrary to what we believe and that is in equality for every person in every aspect in America. WE are the land of the free.

Do you realize that the majority of votes that Trump received were from white males? Does that sound like the Ku Klux Klan? The Klan were bullies who made themselves superior to all who they decided were worthless so they could be done away with by any means possible while hiding their faces. Doesn’t that sound like what Trump did? To me, he is a perfect example of that. I, for one, do not want any person to think he is above the Law. Do you realize that Trump is of the 1% who is running this country today (or trying to anyway)? Do you think he cares about you or your concerns? Will you join me and millions of others to stop this raid on our government and our individual power? If enough of us pursue this opportunity we have, we will definitely make our wishes known to the ones who have been blind sighted.

I received this email last night that brought a little light or possibility that we who have the majority vote might still have a chance to bring America back from the brink of disaster.

Politicians wonder why the attendance at voting is low and that is because we have discovered that our vote is actually worthless. Why bother to vote when it doesn’t count anyway. WE, as Americans, have been brainwashed into being apathetic. I still believe in the vote being the ONE thing that has been fought for and died over so that we will be free. Let’s change that apathy and prove that EACH vote is important and worthy to be counted. WE are one Nation and so each person is important and irreplaceable.

During my prayer time this morning, I could not stay in the peace and tranquility, my mind kept bring me back to the injustice that this member of the Ku Klux Klan is bringing to bear on the people of America. This morning I received this email which opened up even more possibilities. I am not alone and neither are you. We are strong as this email shows. Will you join us and let your voice be heard this time?

I realize that my subject for today has not been one of the most uplifting ones yet we need to know who and what we placing our trust in and what we can do about it. There is an uplifting when we find a possible solution and it is simple to do.

I was given a good suggestion for lifting our moods and it is so true. Go to You tube and put in “Children Laughing” and then watch your mood shift. Children are the innocent ones and the heart up-lifters.

THE BEAUTY OF OUR EARTH

It amazes me how often I am surprised by things that happen on the lake, especially since I have been here 20 years. Do you remember last week when I said I would just take my kayak out a little ways to be rocked by the boat waves on Sunday because it would be too hot to kayak? Well, I kept watching the lake and to my surprise although there were many boats on the water, they were not speeding around or even going anywhere. They were all congregated in the middle of the lake just sitting there. But…..the people on the boats were diving into the water and swimming around. They were having a grand time visiting with each other in the water. I have never seen that before. The air was so hot and humid that even the wind from being on the boat was too hot. It was much cooler in the water than they could get by being on the boat. I, myself, went into the water twice that day just to get my body cooler.

It feels to me that that day was the peak of summer and now the temperature and the humidity are easing their way out. I know it is the middle of August but it just feels so much like fall weather is right around the corner. Boy, summer is so much shorter than the other seasons. I am very grateful that I am not in the California fires or in the floods that are raging.

I am sure the planets and the sun are causing these different weather patterns. There is a full moon and a lunar eclipse which is the first of three that will be affecting earth in this next month. I am not an astrologer and neither do I follow my horoscope yet my spirit knows that the planet, climate change and also myself are affected by the movement that occurs in the entire universe.

DEPTH, BEAUTY, AND POWER

Dear Spiritual Partner,

I am always amazed by the depth, beauty, and power of people. I see these things often at our events, and they thrill me. Last month at our first urban Journey to the Soul retreat, a large, beautiful, black woman stood to speak. She was big in size, voice, and presence, but she was trembling and struggling to find her voice. A previous sharing about loss had activated a frightened part of her personality, a part deep in terror, pain, rage, and humiliation. She spoke haltingly. “I am fed up with it. I am sick of being afraid. I am so tired of fearing the police. How many more of my black friends will be arrested, beaten, or killed?” She was sobbing with despair and rage and powerlessness. “Everyone I know who is black fears being stopped by the police. The police always have a reason. Its driving while black. Or breathing while black.” Now her whole body was shaking, and her face was wet with tears. She held to the back of a chair to remain standing. “I am fed up!” she struggled to say again. “FED UP!” Then she seemed to physically grasp herself and said in a different voice. “A frightened part of my personality is fed up. It has had enough. Enough!”

The transformation was palpable. Before she was speaking from a frightened part of her personality. Now she was talking about it. She was present again. Her shaking stopped, but her face was still wet. This strong woman was an executive in a multinational corporation. And she was black, terrified of the police, and had had enough. I could see her centering herself, scanninginterior places for painful physical sensations, and deciding not to act on them more. This was a moment of creating authentic power. It was intimate and heroic. As she moved beyond the fear of beatings and bullets, beyond the control of this part of her personality, she entered a courageous, compassionate, and caring part of her personality, and we all moved with her.

Another woman on the other side of the room stood up. She was small and blonde. “I am the wife of a cop,” she said. “My husband is not like that. I feel what you are saying, but he is not like that.” There we were, all of us, courageously experiencing the ragged tear in our country and in our world without the anesthetics of righteousness and rage. It took courage, because creating authentic power always does. It requires challenging painful frightened parts of your personality that are so strong they shake your body or so beguiling they envelop you in blaming. These two souls did neither. They cultivated loving parts of their personalities, the big black woman and the white wife of the white cop.

Our dear friend, Maya Angelou, often said, “We are more alike than we are different.” She was so right. We are all immortal souls learning how to love in the Earth school, in the domain of the five senses, in the realm of right and wrong, gain and loss, good and bad. This requires creating authentic power, and we all witnessed a moment of that creation, one of myriad moments in the life of each individual who is growing powerful – aligning personality with soul.

Can you challenge the frightened parts of your personality and cultivate the loving parts of your personality like these two women did and do? Can you create authentic power?

Yes, you can.
