PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

First, I would like to take a moment to remember that 14 years ago today, our whole country was in shock. Please join me in saying a brief prayer for all who were involved in the 9/11 tragedy. Lives were unalterably changed and America is stronger for having so many volunteers who rushed to the scene and the many who helped in the background. God Bless America.

This has been quite a week of learning new things, places and people. I went on a 5 day retreat titled “Soul Sisters” given at the Genesis House in Westfield by Edwina Gately. I knew no one including the facilitator but I was looking forward to being with females of like minds. It was kind of an initiation also for my scooter as I would be using it indoors as well as outdoors. I learned how to navigate doors yet I had so many door holders who were very gracious. I learned that my little scooter does well in the forest as long as there is a path and it held its balance quite well considering the many tree roots that it had to go over when there was no other way. When I got back from my jaunt, I realized that the jacket I had taken off was no longer in the basket in the back of my scooter. I figured it had bounced out as I was going over the tree roots. A beautiful young man went into the woods to check it out while I went the other way where the grass and roads where easier. When I could not locate it, I went back to the building and it was there waiting for me. He had found it.

Genesis House had provided me with a private room on the first floor as they had no elevator. It was one of two rooms that had its own bathroom for which I was so grateful. I even had three baths while I was there which is a treat as I only take Navy showers at home to conserve the water that flows into my tight tank.

I learned a lot about life over 2,000 years ago and how Catholicism began. Do you know that priests used to be married and that there were women priests? Edwina was such a wealth of information and she had us laughing so much as she took the roles of different people she has encountered in her life even speaking in their lingo. The fact that 2/3 of the people there were nuns (sisters) was quite an eye opener. I went to parochial school for 12 years so the habit of calling them Sister….was quite ingrained and an automatic habit. Speaking of habits, they did not wear any so it made it much easier to relate to them as just ordinary women. It was quite easy to call them by their first names. Such diversity among all of us and yet we were sisters at heart. This was not a religious retreat but a retreat that opened all of our minds to all possibilities. All of us are concerned with humanity and what we can do in our own small way to help Mother Earth and ALL of her inhabitants. I wish to thank all the religious who taught me about my religion, in fact, I learned more from them that I did with the priests. The priests are always busy with the running of the church but the people and children are touched and helped more by the females in the church. I am also grateful for the deepening awareness I now have from my retreat with my “soul sisters”.

Wednesday, 9/9 was quite a special day. I am going to give you an article that will speak to that and also clue you in to what is on the horizon.

We cannot ignore the disaster of the refugees. We can at least send light and love to them on their journeys, just close your eyes, take a deep breath and set the intention. They will receive it and they will feel it. Here is an article that will lift your spirits.

NO EXPECTATION

This is a transition period, from heat to cooler temperatures. Summer is not ready to give up yet and we still have some “hot” times ahead. I, for one, am happy about that because the rest of the 9 months are quite a bit cooler and there doesn’t feel like there is as much freedom to move around outside. Perhaps it is because I live on a lake and the water doesn’t warm up enough for me to swim until August and suddenly the freedom to go into the lake is gone.

I have so enjoyed the hummingbirds this year; there were more of them so I got to visually see many aerial acrobatics as they honed their flight skills. I have three hummingbird feeders, one on each side of my house so I can watch them as I go about my daily duties and one on the side bow window over the deck. That is the one that can see easily as I sit and relax. Well, twice this week, I woke up to find that feeder hanging by one suction cup and the sugar water all over the chair and the deck. The feeder is inside a hangar type surrounding the actually feeding station. The hangar allows me to put water in it to deter the ants that just love the sweetness and it works great. The hangar is what hangs from the two suction cups and I just surmised that the suction had loosened on one of them and that is why the feeder kept falling to the deck. After I cleaned my chair and deck again, washed the window to make sure the glass was clean enough for the suction cups to stay and then put up the newly filled feeder, I made a statement to the Universe and to myself that if it fell again, I would not refill it as it must be a message to me. Three strikes and you are out. When something happens three times in a row, I am not getting the message.

Guess what? When I got up this morning, the feeder was down again and only one suction cup was left on the window without the hangar. What happened I asked myself or my spirit? For the whole thing to be down, it would have taken a strong pull to dislodge it. Was it a human playing games with me? After the raccoon episode, I started thinking about it being an animal perhaps. What could it be? It has to be an animal that loves sugar but my chair was not scratched by any animal claws? I went out to clean the sticky mess and as I gathered the pieces, I came across a screw. The suction cups are held onto the hangar by a screw so I looked more closely. Sure enough, the feeder was not broken and no animal could have unscrewed the screw so it must be as simple as that.

The hummingbirds are due to start leaving around Labor Day next week and they are bulking up for the long trip south. As much as I want to put the feeder back up again, I realize that I still have two feeders and there is food enough for them to share. I will keep a closer eye on those two to make sure there is always food there. I know they are territorial yet this year, they have been sharing a lot more with each other. But….I will miss watching them as I sit down to rest. Do you think I should give it another try? I just might, I will let you know what I decide next week.

As I was reading the Spirit Library that just came in today, I started to laugh out loud when I came to this article by Cheryl Richardson. It so speaks of how easy it is get quiet and not have expectation but it is something that most of us do not think of when we are waiting for something. Do you know the full moon is upon us? I enjoy watching the Full Moon rise at night. I keep my blinds open to remind me to look every time I come into the kitchen. I call her Gramma Moon from a book I read to my granddaughter.

ARE YOU READY FOR POWER?

I want to apologize for all the extra copies of the newsletters. I realize it has not been much fun for you and it only crowds your already crowded email. I have been working diligently to find a solution and after surrendering to the possibility that I would have to stop sending the newsletters which I so enjoy creating for you, a solution seem to have appeared. I have finally found the way to use Mail Chimp as a go between. Being ignorant of many aspects of the computer, I am learning what the computer language means and how to maneuver myself within its corridors. Since this will be the first newsletter using this medium, I am not sure how the finished product will look. Any feedback you would like to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Surrendering to your Godself, Higher Power, Intuition, etc. is not the easiest thing to do. You believe you have surrendered already but why does one piece still remain? We are being given many opportunities to realize just where we are stuck. All we need do is be AWARE of those opportunities, then send love and gratitude for their service to us. We cannot forgive or surrender what we do not know is there. I know it is does not always FEEL good to feel those feelings but they are the way to your freedom… freedom to be who you are in your totality. You will still have the same quirks in your personality but as you love and accept them, it is quite OK to have them. It is accepting who you are with love and joy much as you feel that smile begin as you watch a child learning to navigate this world. This is a new world and we are infants as well as masters. Allow yourself to grin at the childish things you do and know that you are more than OK.

Wow! It has been a very interesting two weeks with all the powerful energy coming to us and our planet. I know I sent you more info about the Lion’s Gate than most other events but it is even more powerful than I ever expected. The effects are still being felt and will continue for some time. I feel so excited as I read this. A solution to a worldwide problem is right here, created by a young female and supported by a large community. Ladies, you do not need to give up your plastic bags. We do not need to be concerned about the island of plastic floating in our life giving ocean. And….this method will also help with our fuel costs. I see this mushrooming into even more solutions for our beautiful planet than they are aware of now. And….coming from the feminine, it is truly not just a symbol of power but is a symbol of male awareness that brilliant ideas come from the females and a youth at that.
