CAN YOU BE A HERO? YES!

Beloveds,

There are so many stories about real down to life heroes, that I can’t get them all on this newsletter.  I need to choose between them and I ask the angels to help me choose which ones would serve you best. There is also humor along with the truth.  These have touched my heart and I wanted to share them with you.

This one speaks to the virus but in a way that is true, sad, funny and inspirational.  Enjoy. Can I add relaxing?

I suddenly realized the folder that I keep these messages in is labeled: INSPIRING MESSAGES.  I’ve been doing this for years but all of sudden; the title became so clear to me. It suddenly got so light that I could not ignore it.  Has that ever happened to you?

Can you believe this? I have always heard that Mother Nature holds all the miracles we need.

Another hero who is the perfect example of someone who values what life has to give and is not afraid to put in the necessary work to accomplish it. He had many angels around him to keep him afloat even after having given up when he was a teenager.  Isn’t humanity wonderful?  I don’t think I could have done what he did.

This is my favorite.  Who says you have to be mature to be a hero?  You just need to have heart.

Heroes come in many forms, cultures, sexes and countries yet they are all one species and on one planet.  Would you say we are connected?  I would and I am proud to be a human.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Beloved,

I have owned and used a sea kayak for about 20 years but time has caught up with me and I am not as physically strong as I used to be.  I have been looking into inflatable and also folding kayaks.  I accidentally ran into a new kayaker on the lake so I asked her about her kayak which turned out to be an inflatable one.  She brought it over to my beach for me to try and I surmounted the two things I was most concerned about, getting in and getting out.  My original kayak is solid so I can use it as a lever or handle but the blow up one does not have the firmness for me to use.  But…I managed to do it anyway and now onto trying to maneuver it.  I felt like such a neophyte as I could not control or steer this kayak.  The oars felt so short and I had a hard time reaching into the water. I did but I had to hike up my shoulders and arms at a difficult angle.  I even got a blister.

My mind was trying to figure out why I was having a problem and I thought maybe the oars were too short.  I measured them against the oars I always use and they were the same length. No answer there.  I came into the house as it was evening and Lisa was kind enough to let me borrow her kayak for a few days.  During the evening, with my mind still trying to find a solution, I suddenly realized that it was ME that was not tall enough. My body does not sit tall enough and my arms are not long enough. I started to chuckle at the simplicity of the problem yet I had struggled to find a solution. The inflatable kayak does not sit in the water and it is taller in height to begin with than my sea kayak so there is much more kayak for me to surmount to get to the water with the oars.  Problem solved yet I was sad because I was so hoping that I would be able to maneuver the much lighter one. Now I am hoping that a foldable kayak will be the right fit for me. Time will tell.

“Project Park Bench “by Jim Self makes a lot of sense to me.  Since I am unable to travel or do workshops, I sometimes feel useless. I so want to help others.  Here is an amazing explanation of how you can “be” who you want to be without having all the work involved in “doing”. YOU and I are very much needed by just “BEING” who we are. Perhaps I felt useless because my generation has been one of doing and old habits die hard. I am grateful that Jim Self brought this to light even if I am a late bloomer. See what you think.

Sometimes we think that to be “spiritual” we need to always be positive thinking and speaking or we create karma.  I suffer from that as I always try to see the “other side” of whatever happens. I disappoint myself when I allow myself to feel pain or grief when in my heart I know I am creating it. Why can’t I stop doing that?  Now we are being told by Eckhart that difficulties are inevitable so we should just assume they will come and it is OK to “feel” the difficulty. Somehow when he explains it, it just makes sense.  “Eckhart talks about how life’s inevitable difficulties become a pathway to awakening, and how to stay present amidst the continual challenges we encounter.”

Lee Harris says it is OK to feel exhausted.  Would you like to know why it is OK?

I want to share this video with you and have you see these with your own eyes to believe that these are the most unusual instruments ever invented. Now you will have to believe in ALL POSSIBILITIES.

YOUTHFUL JOY

Beloved,

Is it me or did summer heat come in June instead of in August? We had a 4 day heat wave of over 90 degrees, in fact, I have already gone in the lake 5 times and I usually wait until August when the lake water is warmer. I really was questioning my memory until I realized I went from my heavy robe into my summer one????? I now realize I never graduated from the winter one into the spring one, I went directly into the summer one. I am now chuckling at myself and also at Mother Nature.  She just loves to keep us guessing at what she will do next.

I have so many Baltimore Orioles this year and just a few hummingbirds.  What do they know that we don’t? Yet I saw a small frog the other day and they have practically gone into nonexistence.  When I first moved here 24 years ago, their song at night used to help me fall asleep.  There have not been any frog sounds for quite a few years but maybe they will come back now. It is amazing just how much we take for granted that is all around us. That is one gift from the corona virus, the time to hear and see all that we were too busy to notice before.

So many people are out of work that the beach right in front of me has a steady stream of parents and children who are enjoying the water. I love to watch these little children who are either not afraid of the depth of water so they need watching every second or they are leery of the loss of stability when they go deeper.  All personalities are on display but their wonderment is a joy to behold.

Lee Harris is giving an interview with Rebecca Shaper who is new to me.  I found her so interesting and hope you will be touched by her love and compassion for her brother. Rebecca Schaper is an author, filmmaker, philanthropist and mental health advocate. She co-directed and executive produced the award-winning documentary “A Sister’s Call” about her mission to bring her brother, Call Richmond, Jr. back from the depths of homelessness and schizophrenia. In this episode, Lee and Rebecca discuss how this divinely guided vision that took her 14 years to complete, led to deep healing and transformation in the family. Rebecca speaks compassionately to the unfortunate labels in mental health and why her mission is to give people hope so they never give up.

An unexpected moment in time can bring such JOY to everyone seeing this.

Children are irresistible when they allow their hearts to guide them.  We adults could learn so much from them if we just allowed our hearts to flow like theirs.

I just realized that most of this newsletter is about our younger generations. Can you tell I am in the elder generation?  These young ones so inspire me with their natural expressions of love. This young one deserved the prize for her creation which came naturally from HER HEART.

This prayer to Mother Mary touched me deep into my soul.  I just want to share that deep love with you.
