GET-TOGETHER IN COMPASSION

This 4th of July was the best one I have experienced since I moved here. Because the lake makes the shooting of fireworks that much safer, the people around the lake really get into the Holiday and offer a beautiful selection. One house went on for 45 minutes and the fireworks were the caliber of the finest show anywhere. The other homes went into competition with one another afterwards; shooting one off and then letting the other side of the lake shoot one off. There were quite a few boats out on the lake so they could get a really wide view of the activities. I could have gone out in my kayak but I decided I enjoy them more by sitting on my chaise lounge with my neck at the just the right angle. In the kayak, I need to keep looking up to see them and end up with a stiff neck. What made it the best for me was the fact that there were no shooting off of fireworks before the night of the 4th and there were no loud booms after 11 pm. Usually there is at least a week of the loud noises when I least expected it so I was not able to view the extravaganza. There usually is a lot of noise after I go to bed so my sleep was disturbed for about a week. Like I said, this was a wonderful holiday where we all joined in the enjoyment of the celebration on the day it was intended for. I hope you enjoyed the family gatherings and the camaraderie of friends on this occasion.

I don’t go in the water as often as I used to. I don’t do as much physical activity around the house to work up a sweat when I would use the lake as a quick cool down and rejuvenation to get me back to work around the yard. We have had some 90 degree days so I finally went in the water and as I do each year, I wonder why I waited so long to jump in. It is so much more fun if someone is with you. I think because I can experience the lake all day or any day since I am retired that I don’t feel the need to go in as much and I do kayak which I enjoy.

The geese now number 25 with only 6 new babies this year. I see more of the older geese being allowed to join in with the two families. Not right in but along with and on the side. It is like the others who are not parents are being protective while the parents are busy herding the young ones. I miss the regular ducks and there are not as many although the ducks and the geese do mingle. Can you tell I want it all! (smile).

This year was a whirlwind of Baltimore Orioles feeding on the jelly feeders at the beginning.. All of sudden, they were no longer coming and the catbirds, which like jelly, took over. Occasionally I see an Oriole flying by but they no longer stop and I have no idea why. The hummingbirds are prolific this year. I even have two to three females who eat at the same feeder. They look like females but perhaps they are just the babies growing up. I laugh at the male hummingbird as he tries so hard to “protect” his feeder from intruders. He puffs up and sits on the feeder, warning all not to come. Yet they still come and he goes away for awhile. One of my feeders out of the three needs to be refilled three times more than the other two. And…that is the one that the male tries so hard to protect.

The energies are so strong right now and it is showing up in so many ways and in so many different dramas. Remember, we cannot bring our “garbage” with us to the 5th dimension. That is why all the things we resist or are not willing to address will pop up so we deal with them in order to clear your body with love. There is no more resistance, just breathe and be in that particular moment and know that it is given with love. Love yourself and love will easily flow from you to the world and all of humanity.

Pt’aah gave this quote today to help us with the intensity. State: “From the God/Goddess of my being, I desire that that which is not aligned come forth in a gentle fashion that I may come into this expansion without the dire circumstances and pain and anguish”.

BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF

The sun is out and the feeling of warmth penetrates my entire being. I don’t think I am truly happy unless I can be in the sun or at least see it. For me, it is a symbol of the greatest light there is and God pours it down on us all the time even when it is obliterated by the clouds. I know it is still there even if I can’t see it but my body doesn’t begin to smile until I actually see it. It seems to light everything up and I can see more clearly. Let us be like the sun and shine on all we come in contact with and the easiest way to do that is to smile. In my heart, I think that is the greatest way to give of our love and energy and every being responds to it. And…..most everyone will return a smile to you and then proceed to spread it around.

As I was on my way to the soul Light Expo, two young deer were just ambling down the road. They turned to look at me but still stayed in the road. Of course, I slowed and when I got a little closer, they each went on opposite sides of the street. Being curious of what they were trying to tell me other than not to rush around but just amble around, I looked into the Animal Speak book by Ted Andrews. A deer’s Keynote is: Gentleness and Innocence-Gentle Luring to New Adventure. These young ones were a perfect example of that. When deer show up in your life it is time to be gentle with yourself and others. A new innocence and freshness is about to be awakened or born. There is going to be a gentle, enticing lure of new adventures. When deer show up there is an opportunity to express gentle love that will open new doors to adventure for you. I will accept that with Grace and pass onto that opportunity of gentle love and adventure to you. The last few weeks have been anything but gentle adventures but adventures they were. It was up to me to accept those opportunities as gentle nudges to allow the old things or old ways to pass away and accept the new gentleness that is being offered. (Actually, these newsletters are easier for me with my new computer thanks to the help of a beloved friend).

The geese are back of course but out of all 17 geese, there is only one pair that has babies and there is only three babies whereas the other years there were much more. Perhaps it is because the lake will only support so many and there are many more adults now. I have another critter in my yard which I believe to be a raccoon. It threw down my birdfeeder twice so my son screwed it into the tree and then one morning I got up and the Baltimore Orioles feeder was down on the ground as well as the hook. I went out to look and it was sparkly clean, no jelly at all in the feeder. I suspected it was my critter again and sure enough when I went on Google (which works so much better on this computer), I found many have written about the raccoon’s love of jelly. My son has let me borrow the heart trap to see if I can catch it but so far, the marshmallow covered with jelly disappeared without trapping it. It could have been another small animal that ate it and their weight did not trigger the trap to shut. This morning, I trapped a squirrel that was eating the bare faced peanut butter and jelly sandwich I had placed there. Boy was he ever happy to see that door open. I don’t think I have ever seen him run so fast before. I just may give up on the trap and buy an electronic sound thing that keeps him away. I am just not sure if it will be effective or if it will disturb my birds. Saga to continue.

What freedom really feels like! It comes in many forms but this makes me ever grateful to be an American. My freedom is kayaking; I do not need to use my legs, only my arms. It is not busy as long as it is during the week. I feel so free and it is so wonderful to connect with my neighbors that I don’t usually run into any other way. What makes you feel as free as this lion?

YOUR LOVING ENERGY IS NEEDED

Today is May 1st and the flowers are beginning to appear. They so enlighten the atmosphere and bring us joy and promise of a friendlier climate. My grass is green now but there are bare spots where the piles of snow were. So yesterday I put grass seed down as today we are scheduled for rain. My heart goes out to beautiful California with its drought and no relief in sight. Predictions abound about the weather changes and have been around for quite a while but the changes seem to be happening quicker than ever. I, for one, do not seem to have the ability to change on a dime and that appears to be what is needed these days. There are many opportunities that come my way to practice being more in the present and let the future be whatever it is choosing to be. Can I blame my age for preferring to stay with the status quo? It is so much easier than having to make so many quick decisions. Even with the energy companies, I have had four proposals which all have changed in two days…not counting the opportunity for solar energy which could not offer me a substantial savings. I guess I am from the old school where even energy companies received respect and loyalty.

Nowadays, you just make a call and your energy company is switched. Last fall, my energy company doubled their price and although we had heard rumors, none of us believed they would actually do it. Well, they did and I felt deceived. How could I be loyal to them? It took two months to get changed to a new company. Although I have been calling to see what the new rate would be (it changes every 6 months) they could not tell me so I signed up again for six months with the present company. I found out yesterday that my original supplier is cheaper than the one I switched to so I transferred again back to my original supplier. Hopefully they will not double again this fall because if they do, I will transfer permanently. When I called to cancel my present supplier, I was told: “Oh, we have a new lower price”, which I was not told about when I again contracted with them two weeks ago. If I had not called to cancel with them. I would not have known about the new lower price. Although they were a little lower in price, I felt that they had not been honest with me so I cancelled anyway. “Buyer Beware “seems to be so prevalent these days giving us many opportunities to change our minds. I am so glad that my car mechanic who I have had for 25 years is still very dependable and honest. In fact, he does not take credit cards, only checks or cash and he has a booming business because of his honesty and integrity. Then I received another call today that a certain supplier was even lower than my original one. I am tired of switching back and forth, having to make decisions over and over again. My human brain is tired from all this exercise and I prefer to spend my time enjoying this life. Do you think it has anything to do with all the energy of the sun and the stars and also with these new times? I think so. Here is an article that explains it much better than I can.

I have been out in my kayak twice now and it is only the beginning. There are a few boats out there but more will be out in the future. Each month changes the lake. Right now, I can kayak out to all the edges of the lake as the water lilies are still dormant. When they are out, there are places that are too thick with them, although beautiful, make going through them quite a chore. Now, I can see the homes without all their summer toys out and it is much quieter. I enjoy all the differences because they all change back again. Kayaking is quite a metaphor to enjoy the present because it too will change.

My first hummingbird made his appearance a few days and I am now eagerly awaiting the Baltimore Orioles. The feeders are out but only half of them. When they, hummingbirds and orioles, are here in full force, I have feeders on both sides of my house. I believe I have a new visitor which I have never seen but his antics have led me to believe who it is. I have a huge feeder which suddenly was on the ground and along my fence one morning. The hook that I hang it on was down below the tree. My first thought was that it was a bear but another thistle feeder was still on the tree and a bear would have crushed my feeder. ???? I hung it back up and two mornings later it was back down again. I filled it to the brim thinking that perhaps the weight would keep whatever was taking it off would find it too heavy to lift. Two days later, it was down again. ????? Was some teenager having fun with me? So, I went to my local bird store and asked them what they thought it might be. They are positive it is a raccoon which is a nocturnal animal. It seems there mode of operation is to lift the hook from the tree, shake it and the feeder falls off, giving them access to the food. They suggested using an eye hook to screw into the tree and then use a gadget that holds keys that enables me to hang it up on this gadget. Each night I would take the feeder in at dusk and then put it out in the morning until my son could come and install it for me. Problem solved, it has been a week and the feeder has not come down. Life certainly gives us many opportunities to learn new things and depend on the abilities of others to help us. We are so fortunate to have each other.
