COURAGE TO CHANGE

Beloved,

I am in for a real test to see if I am ready for change.  I have never had an air conditioner and frankly, I do not like air conditioning.  It is too cold.  I need to carry a sweater everywhere I go from church to shopping at stores and even to visits with family and friends who have air conditioning.  If I need to make a preference, I prefer being too warm to being too cold. And…if I get too warm I can go jump in the lake.

Well, my son has talked me into buying a portable air conditioner and so far it has been quite a journey.  I do not like my windows blocked and the only window that the exhaust can be put in is on the side of my house that I see the lake from.  I have found out that I won’t be able to move the air conditioner as it needs to be connected to a window to work right.  I have two windows, one in my spare room and one in my master bedroom.  Every time I walk by these rooms, I look out the window at the lake.  Now one of these windows in my spare room will be partially blocked as I refuse to have it in my master bedroom even if that is where I need it most for these humid nights. I had originally agreed to this because I thought I would be able to move it myself as it is on wheels.  But, guess what, I won’t be able to move the contraption in the window so it has to stay where my son puts it.

Have you ever been on a journey where the facts constantly change?  Well, I am on one and I am really trying to accept the changes with ease and grace but sometimes I simply do not like the changes.  I will let you know next week how this goes and if I can accept the air conditioner with some kind of graceful acceptance.

I am really working on accepting change as this beautiful little girl is accepting her changes.  I hope I  jump for joy  like her.

Here is perhaps a better example of the  elders  showing courage to the younger generation.

This story really touched me and made me so proud to be part of this human race.  There is more good that we don’t see or experience than what we do see.

Can you put up with another cow story?  This one will surprise you as it did me.  Scroll down also and click on the links of the other short cow stories, they will make you smile.

And….this one is about the younger generation showing all of us how to make a difference in our world; one small act  at a time.

SAYING YES TO OPPORTUNITY WHEN IT KNOCKS

Beloved,

When I opened my blinds this morning…What to my
wondering eyes did appear…..SNOW. A veritable
winter wonderland and it is not even November yet.
The lake is not frozen so no snow accumulated there
but across the lake, instead of beautiful fall colors
there was a white haze over the entire mountain tops.

Not like a heavy snowstorm where everything is white,
it was like a haze that lightly touched on all the trees.
the pine trees had snow on them but it did not stick
to the ordinary trees. It did not stick to my driveway
either (I like this kind of snow, no shoveling) but it
did accumulate on my stoop and deck which are wood.
Pavement must be warmer as it was all melted. The
grass was all covered with about 2 inches of the
white stuff.

I am being resistant to bringing in the snow shovel into
my home for the winter. I need it in the house because
I have to shovel my way out of my house from the stoop
to the sidewalk to the driveway and then to the garage.
This sudden snow is a reminder to me to get going and
finish putting things away for the winter and perhaps
putting up my kayak also. DARN!

Last week I was offered a fabulous opportunity….
to host my own TV show on our access channel
here in Wales, Ma. I said yes and then began all
the preparations as I was going to be taped in a week.
With the help of a beloved friend, Scott Gonnello,of
www.GonnelloSEO.com, I created a website for my
new show entitled: I AM MARY GRACE. My new
website is http://www.iammarygrace.com. I want to
inspire, educate and create AHA moments for all
who welcome me into their living room.

My show was taped yesterday and it went quite well
considering some trepidation on my part on what to say
and how to present my ideas. Leon Givner, the Station
Manager was quite supportive and had confidence in me
which helped ease the newbie nervousness. It will air today,
Oct 28, 2011 at either 4PM or 5PM on Channel 5 for
you if you have Charter TV.

It will be accessible for the whole week and then it will
be put on www.waleson5.com, their website and anyone
can view it whenever they choose. I will remind you next
week in case you want to check it out. Let me know any
comments you have or any questions you might like me to
address. I want this to be a show with a special relationship
between me and my viewers.

Many people in my own town do not know much about me.
How many people where you live know much about you?
It means getting authentic and letting my viewers know who
I am and what I stand for. That can be quite unnerving as
you reveal yourself to others. Yet it is so exciting.

Happy Halloween! Who are you after you remove your
masks?

I want to give you this link to someone who spent his whole
life being who he is and he is so inspiring with his courage
and confidence. You will be glad you “clicked” on the link.

FAITH, HOPE AND COURAGE

I did not want another Friday to go by without
saying Hi. Wow, this has been quite a week
and a half. Last weekend I was an exhibitor
and speaker at the Boston Yoga and Chant
Fest in Marlborough, Massachusetts. I was
very fortunate to have a very dear friend who
accompanied me and assisted me at my booth.

I got to meet such wonderful people and made
many new friends. I was offered an opportunity
to look into having my own radio show and also
to be a guest on another radio show. I am seriously
looking into these avenues.

I should not be surprised but I am always pleasantly
intrigued by the variety of people and their individual
talents that are as diverse as they are. We even had
female priests who wear the collar of the religious
and are so full of love for their fellow human beings.

Today I am being visited by an old friend who I haven’t
seen in 25 years and her husband. What a thrill and the
chance to go down memory lane. She was married to an
air force man and they lived right across the small street
I lived on with their three children. I had three children
also so we had a lot in common.

She looks the same and she says I look the same although
we are 25 years older. That was a surprise to me because
I feel like I have changed so much but I think we are more
critical of ourselves than others are. They will be here for
the weekend and then Monday I go in for cataract surgery.

I am not sure just how I will be able to see with only one
eye corrected and it will be three weeks before they do
the other eye. I knew if I did not write tonight, that
I may not get to until next Friday, and I wanted to let
you know that I am fine and will write soon.

I would like to share a video with you that brings up
all that Hope and Faith can do if we just do not give
up. Can I add that Courage is also a very necessary
ingredient. This video shows just what a human can
achieve and not realize the gift that they are.

Video of the Week: Homeless Street Kid Wows
Nation Singing Classical Music on TV

A recent video segment of Korea’ Got Talent racked
up more than 6.6 million hits on YouTube, when it
featured a shy orphan boy who lived on the streets
for many years, stunning an audience with his amazing
singing voice on national television.

What a model of true humility.
