There is nowhere to turn to avoid conflict, it seems. I am watching less news or TV because it is so hard to shut your mind off from the warlike energies that seem to be penetrating our daily life.  I don’t know if I have become more sensitive to these disturbances or if there really is more of it out there. I do know that I am not helping in any way if I get upset and prattle on about it and the best way to help is to go to my heart and send love to all who live on earth. Important news!  How many of us have high blood pressure and this new invention has the possibility of reducing the numbers without prescription or intervention. Good news for many.

You have to see this to believe it. It is proof of the wisdom of Mother Nature and the intelligence in all forms of life.

Why did this decision take so long to proliferate?  Nonetheless, I am grateful that the earth will be a healthier place for everyone.

Who would have thought this flower could be anything but a pest. Our Native Americans were so much wiser than modern mankind pretends to be with all of its chemicals. There is room on this earth for ALL wisdom. Let’s keep our minds and hearts open to all.

Hang on to your hats, fellow humans.  There is SOOO much coming in our future.

PAST TO PRESENT

Have you ever heard of National Black Cat Appreciation Day? I know I never have and since last week on Aug, 13, Friday the 13th, was the day it was celebrated; I want to back up a week and offer you this story which captured my heart.

In fairness to our other beloved pet, your dog, watch this video.

Now back to today, Aug 20th.  I can’t believe that August is almost completed as it does not feel like we have had summer at all. Yesterday had so much rain all at once that I had running brown water from my neighbor’s driveway flowing on top of my grass and making deep ruts in the beach sand on its way to the lake. Wow, that was scary to realize that not only would my feet be wet but I would be wet up to my knees in water on my lawn if I went outside. I was surrounded for about an hour and then gradually it receded. I also realized later on that I could no longer see the sunset across the lake as it had moved back behind the trees until next year. What had happened to all my summer sunsets that I love to watch…I had so few of them that it really should be the beginning of July?  Is your time table upside down too?

Enough of that sad stuff, lets smile a little.

I learned a new word for hand-me-downs.  It is titled “Slow Fashion”.  Check this out. I like the idea of smaller closets and less time and effort to be dressed. .

EARTH TODAY

The weather this year is so different than normal but what is normal? In the last month or so, I have worn winter clothes, spring clothes and summer clothes. I wear more scarves in the summer than in winter because everywhere I go, there is air conditioning which is “cold”. When I use the electric shopping carts, that “cold” air drops down onto my knees and shoulders as cold air descends while warm air arises. I guess what they say about New England is still true.  “IF you don’t like the weather, wait a minute or two and it will change”. Yesterday after strong wind currents and rain, I had pieces of wood that flew over the fence from the boardwalk on the beach into my yard????

I am always amazed at what the Earth has to offer us if we just overcome our fear and let the animals and insects offer us the gifts they have for us.  I often think of the aborigines who knew the secrets of what our planet had to offer. Why or why did we think we were so much smarter than they.  Another miracle has shown itself to help us humans.

This video reminds me of just how “small” our world is on this large planet. You and I can’t save the world but each of us can save a part of what being on Earth is all about.

This article and video really places bias and prejudice in a very visible way.  The story really hits my heart because I could not afford a wedding gown but at least I could rent one so I would have the wedding every girl dreams of. This woman could not even do that because of bigotry. Watch this video; it will make your heart sing.

“Teaching presence to children by Eckhart Tolle”.   This talk explains to parents and anyone connected with children in very simple words how to make a child know it is loved and special.  I myself now truly understand.
