I don’t know about your week but this has been one of the
busiest weeks I can remember. Every day there was an
appointment for either eyes,skin, having my taxes done, etc.
Whew, I even have to admit that I had not done dishes for a
week (I don’t have a dishwasher) until last night. My kitchen
looks so clean right now, I feel like I can breathe. I hope to
complete the kitchen transformation by vacuuming, then it
will be complete.

As I write this, it reminds me of the the transformation we
all undergoing. Our physical world is always right in front
of us like my kitchen, but how often do we look at our Soul
or Spirit and see that it also needs a loving touch or a cleansing
or refreshing. It does take time to self reflect on who we are
and where we are going and what are we doing for others?

I start my day with prayers and meditation even before I
eat so the deep peace is still with me from sleeping soundly.
I do have to admit when I needed to get up at 6:00AM
for three mornings (after all, I am retired), and after being
awoken by an alarm clock, I was kind of jarred into wake-
fulness. It was more difficult to meditate and I kind of
shortened the time because my mind was already on what
I needed to do and where I needed to go.

I much prefer to wake up on my own and I also admit that
I ask for help from the angels and they always oblige me and
I am woken gently. The angels always help me wake up on
time when I remember to ask them and I know they do it
EVERY day but when I NEED to get up early, I always
feel more comfortable by setting an alarm. So much for
my faith and trust, huh? Although one morning this week,
my alarm did not go off and the angels woke me a half hour
later so I still made my appointment in time.

You know guys and girls, it isn’t that the angels don’t do as
I ask but as we have Free Will, sometimes I just DON”T
want to be woken so I block them. It’s not their fault it
is my humanness that interferes with my receiving their
guidance. And…that goes for everything in life. We can
pray and our prayers are always answered but sometimes
our subconscious wants something different than our
physical mind does and it puts up interference in our
receiving our guidance.

We all need other and it is very powerful to pray for
others and to have others pray for us. When our
Will is weak, others can make us stronger with their
prayers (energy). Even Jesus said: “Where there are
two or more, there I AM”. I received this offer

LOVE YOUR UNIQUENESS – LIFE AS AN ILLUSION/STAGE

We have had a wonderful winter although the ice fishermen
might disagree. The weather temperature has been unable
to stay low enough long enough to freeze the lake. It has
gotten a coating of thin ice perhaps 7 times but then the
temp goes back up and it melts in the middle. There
has not been one ice fisherman on Lake George this
winter although I have seen a couple on other lakes.
It is a dangerous winter for snowmobilers as several
have lost their lives due to going out before the ice is
thick enough to support them safely.

We have had a lot of rain though so there should be no
drought come summer. The moisture is coming in the
from of rain instead of snow. I am grateful because I do
not have to shovel rain and it is easier to drive in. This
morning is kind of grey and I am finding it difficult to
concentrate on “light” thoughts. It has been a week of
having dreams that shake me up as they have been about
my daughter and my two grandkids who are now out on
their own.

It is tough getting old enough to be independent and then
losing the security you had as a child when all was taken
care of for you. Of course, when you were a child, you
did not realize it and just could not wait to grow up and
be able to do what you want to do without any parents
telling you yea or nay. At first, it is great and the freedom
you feel is so euphoric until reality settles in. For instance,
if you don’t buy toilet paper there will be none there for you.
There is no more milk in fridge and no more toothpaste.
Little things but they feel so big when you have to remember
ALL those little things that make daily living easier.

My granddaughter decided this Christmas that she would not
celebrate Christmas, too much hassle and too much family
hovering over you and not feeling independent enough.
Her brother was so sick that he could not make it either.
Although I do not buy gifts for my grandkids after age 18, I
still make stockings for everyone including my quite adult
children. Before the age of 18, they get a tree ornament that
focuses on some aspect that was important to them the prior
year. This way when they do go out on their own, they will
never feel alone because they will have all the memories of their
childhood. They never know just what will be in the stockings
although they just love the car wash certificates and the
calendar that does double duty as a chance to win money
all year and something to keep their dates straight.

My grandson got his car wash certificate (rite of passage)
last Christmas as he had just gotten a car but his sister
did not have a car so her rite of passage is still in the
stocking that she has not picked up yet. I wrap each little
gift separately so they have a lot to open but are usually
small things that they never knew existed or they would not
purchase for themselves. I suppose it is no surprise to you
that I still have two stockings left over and they have still
not been to visit to get them.

When children get to that certain “adult” age, you see them
when they need something but other than that, they are so
busy living life, that they don’t realize that time passes so
quickly especially if you are the age of a retired grandparent.
I was a grandmother the first time when I was 39 so I didn’t
notice her absence as much because I was busy working and
“trying” to get everything done. This is another reminder to me
to savor “each” moment because that is all we have. We don’t
have the past anymore and the future is not here yet, so just be
aware and enjoy what is happening right now.

OI hope I am not being too morose for you. I guess when you
get to a certain age, you realize that although you should have
plenty of time left to do certain things, you have a keener
awareness of the passing of time and what you would like
to leave for a legacy. And you certainly don’t want your
loved ones to feel any guilt over events that happened. I, for
one, would like my legacy to be that I loved each and every
one of them so very much and took pride in their independence
and what their legacy will be to leave the future generation.

This world is in an ongoing state of illusion with each of us having
our own illusion of what should be and what actually is. Have you
ever considered that your entire life is lived on a stage with people
coming and going and the props changing every now and then? So
what is actually reality and whose is it? Know that your world is
the one you create right around you and that you play many roles
either as the star on your own stage or in a supporting role on
someone else’s stage.

THE CLOUD WITH A PINK (SILVER) LINING

This morning I awoke to the most beautiful sight. Usually
there is a lot of activity either on the lake or at the bird
feeders but this morning, everything was still, even the
clouds. It had snowed last night, about 3 inches, it was
the light fluffy snow that you can get rid of on your deck
or stoop with a broom.

As I looked out over the lake, I suddenly realized that there
was pink in the sky. I focused on what I was seeing and there
were dark clouds everywhere but to the left the sky was white
not blue. In front of me was a “pink” sky with dark clouds, some
looked like rockets, you know the long cylinder type of clouds.
Suddenly I noticed that the clouds had an aura of pink like
someone had outlined them in pink. The lake was white
with snow, that was on the bottom of the view, then the
mountains were brown with some white mixed in, then
above both was the sky which was an array of pink
interspersed with black clouds with a thin pink lining.

You have heard of the the clouds with a silver lining, well these
were clouds with a pink lining which was absolutely breathtaking.
I was mesmerized as I watched the pink outline grow deeper and
deeper until the black cloud was gone just like it evaporated. I
could just imagine an artist trying to capture what was right in
front of me.

I sank into a zone where I just loved and appreciated each
moment of the scenario in front of me and the changes that
were taking place. I dared not leave to do my regular
meditation as each moment was so unique and I know
that Mother Nature changes what she is painting at a
moment’s notice.

It is funny that I have never noticed that happening before
and I have been here 15 years. Perhaps I have been so
focused on the water that I never paid attention to another
gift I am being given. I know the pink color was
a reflection of the rising sun BUT I never see the sun rising
as it is behind houses and trees. It was amazing to see
the huge sky enveloped when I could not see the sun but
I was given the gift anyway of appreciating the sunrise.

Life is like that, isn’t it? You are so focused on one aspect
of your life that the other miracles are happening right
around you but you don’t even notice. This is a reminder
to be open in EVERY moment and I am consciously
playing with that project of my life. I want to live EACH
moment even if it is bringing me something I don’t particularly
like or prefer. I am given only this moment at this moment
of time and I am choosing to live in the NOW. I am like
a child that does not want to miss anything. I have been
asleep long enough just like Rip Van Winkle and I don’t
look good in a beard.

WHAT MIRACLE ARE YOU MISSING RIGHT NOW?

The courage of this man to enjoy the moment he was
given has gifted him in ways he could never expect.
What an example he is to me while I create my habit
of being in the moment.
