BOB HOPE’S CHRISTMAS AND 2012

Beloved,

I hope your Christmas was all you hoped for. Sometimes
the day after can be a bummer. All the preparations that went
into the selection of gifts and the decorating and the cooking,
the things that kept you so busy and hardly finding time for
yourself. Well, this week is the time to take time for yourself.

Sometimes there is a let down because the transition into quiet
and less hecticness can feel like a sudden drop and you feel a little
melancholy. Use this sudden letdown to go inside and “feel” what
you would like the new year to bring to you. It is a perfect time for
reflection of this year and to focus on what you wish to create in
2012.

I am sending you Bob Hope’s Christmas’ so you can laugh a little
or a lot and feel lighter. He was such a gift to us and to the troops
that he inspired year after year. He sets such a positive tone that
we cannot help but feel lighter emotionally.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND TO OUR BELOVED SOLDIERS

Merry Merry Christmas Beloved,

Christmas Eve is tomorrow night and the holiness and
sanctity of this Holyday has me feeling very quiet and
introspective. My shopping is done and so is all the
wrapping. My youngest son needs to work Christmas
Eve and Christmas Day so he came over for his holiday
visit yesterday.

I will not be doing The I Am Mary Grace Show live as
it was decided since it is so close to Christmas, that
the station could run the reruns. I will give you the link
to the second of my shows that you can look at if you
wish. http://www.waleson5.com/gallery.html

I was going to send you some Christmas cartoons but
somehow they did not seem as funny as when I first read
them. I have several things about Christmas that I could
share with you so I settled on the ones that truly reflect the
Spirit of Christmas although all emotions are equally valued
and laughter is high on my list.

One of these is the most clever way I have known to answer
a child’s question of: “Is there really a Santa Claus”. It came
from a grandmother and her wisdom knew no bounds. Here it
is.
Cute Stoory….

Love this story! Merry Christmas Everyone!

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.

I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: “There is no Santa Claus,” she jeered. “Even dummies know that!”

My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her “world-famous” cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.

Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. “No Santa Claus?” she snorted….”Ridiculous! Don’t believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let’s go.”

“Go? Go where, Grandma?” I asked. I hadn’t even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun. “Where” turned out to be Kerby’s General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. “Take this money,” she said, “and buy something for someone who needs it. I’ll wait for you in the car.” Then she turned and walked out of Kerby’s.

I was only eight years old. I’d often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.

For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for.

I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church.

I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock’s grade-two class. Bobby Decker didn’t have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn’t have a cough; he didn’t have a good coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat!
I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.

“Is this a Christmas present for someone?” the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. “Yes, ma’am,” I replied shyly. “It’s for Bobby.”

The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn’t get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Christmas paper and ribbons and wrote, “To Bobby, From Santa Claus” on it.
Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker’s house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially, one of Santa’s helpers.

Grandma parked down the street from Bobby’s house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. “All right, Santa Claus,” she whispered, “get going.”

I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.

Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven’t dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker’s bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were — ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.

May you always have LOVE to share,
HEALTH to spare and FRIENDS that care…

And may you always believe in the magic of Santa Claus!

I am jumping with glee and glowing inside with happiness that most of our
soldiers are home from Iraq. I would like us to remember though that there
are many members of our families who are in countries around the world and
cannot come home for Christmas. This is in Thanksgiving and remembrance for their service
to us.

ARCHANGEL MICHAEL & ESKIMO HALLELUJAH CHORUS

Beloved,

We are in the countdown to Christmas, only a week away. This year it is on Sunday so more people will be able to get together with their families. And….it is like a three day weekend celebrating family, love and the birth of Jesus. If you can’t get together on Christmas Eve or Christmas day you still have enough time to still share the joy with others on the other days.

I woke this morning not sure of what to write about. My focus has been ALMOST exclusively on getting a generator for the future. Of course, you probably realize that there is such a demand for them that I am looking at the end of February before I can get a delivery. I am pondering if I should wait until maybe May as the price of the product and installation will probably go down. Right now the prices are still going up.It has been quite a journey to find info and then make a decision as to how big a generator, portable or standby, what fuel choice and price as well as the electrician and propane company.

As I went to my altar in preparation for meditation this morning as I do every morning, I sensed that the cards that were a gift from the President of the Theosophical Society were calling to me. It is a deck by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. who is the expert on angels and it is the Ascended Masters Oracle cards. I usually either shuffle them until 1 or 2 fall out or until I feel a certain card calling to me (intuition) . A particular card was making my hands tingle so I chose that and turned it over. It was Archangel Michael and the saying was : YOU CAN DO IT!

The meaning in the guide book said: You’re qualified and ready to take the steps toward your desired outcome. You have what it takes to fulfill your dreams and you’re life’s purpose. This card signals that it’s time now to make your move. You can do it! Take action without delay or hesitation.

I have decided that since I cannot physically handle the gasoline containers or even the small propane tanks that you use on grills that I had better go with having a propane company deliver to me and, of course, that means having a fuel tank. Once I make that decision, I have to decide whether to rent the tank or purchase it. The propane is much cheaper per gallon if you own the tank and that price varies from $1.50 to $.50 cents difference. If you own, you can purchase your propane from anyone but you are responsible for any maintenance or any replacement. I had a sales rep from a propane company here yesterday and he mentioned I would need liability so I checked with my house insurance company and was told that I do NOT need it. Phew!

I live in a fish bowl with my house in the middle of my lot. I have been mulling over just where to put the standby generator and the fuel tank. I could put it in back of the garage but every time I go out on my deck, it will be quite visible. I do not have a corner or place to put anything I don’t want to see. I have no fence to hide things behind and that is difficult if you own a home and have no place to put things even like trash barrels. I have three plastic buildings on one side of my house that holds all my yard stuff, tools and anything else you need to care for your home. With no cellar and no attic, space is at a premium. Yesterday I finally decided to put the generator on one side of the buildings and the tank on the other side as there has to be a minimum of 10 feet in between those two things.

One solution solved. Now to decide on the size of the generator. 10kWwon’t take care of my whole house as I am all electric including my well which means when the electric goes out I don’t even have water for drinking or for the toilet. Imagine 6 days of that, I did it for the last storm but do not care to experience that again. I found out yesterday that if I go above 10kW that I will need two fuel tanks which increases the cost of this project. Oh boy!

I am remortgaging my home and it is in the works so I called my bank and asked if I could add $6,000 more to the price of my mortgage because it seems it will cost at least that much. I was approved for the increase by the end of the day for which I was very grateful. It will postpone finalizing the mortgage but at this point, I am just happy that I don’t have to dip into my savings that I have for a rainy day. Hopefully, neither you or I will experience any more rainy days from storms like we have had this year.

I did mention to Mother Nature that we have had our quota for the year and I think she agrees with me. I heard last night that we will be having an El Nina (Ihope I spelled it correctly) winter which means it should be a mild winter. Maybe waiting until Spring to buy wouldn’t be such a bad idea. But….you never know what the weather will do.

After receiving such an inspiring message from Archangel Michael, I spoke to a person I was hesitating to talk to about a situation I was uncomfortable with. This call happened as I was writing to you and we left the call with some compromise and future endeavors in the works. I suppose I could also use this message about the generator that I have been plagued with for the last two months. I try very hard not live in fear but it is a natural reaction after experiencing such a blow to your feeling of security and safety.

I usually am calm or at least I can calm myself enough to “feel” the guidance I am getting but when I am really in a quandary, I do reach for the cards to help me. Sometimes we are so much in the problem that we are not “open” enough the hear the message from Spirit. I am grateful that they called to me this morning and I “feel” so much more calm and sure of my decisions.

I am telling you this so you can claim that message from Archangel Michael for your own. Just ask for his guidance and he will be so happy to give it to you. Mine came in the physical form of a card but yours just may come in another form. A phone call, a license plate, words that jump out at you, something that someone says. Your guidance comes in many forms so look for it and smile when you get it.

This is the season of miracles. Be like the child that believed in Santa Claus and feel the magic in this season. The magic in miracles because they are there for you to see if you just look.

I have so many inspiring messages to share with you but I know how busy you are.so I chose these two for today. Click on both(not at the same time) and allow yourself to be inspired.

Enjoy!!!!

This is outstandingly clever, one teacher and his class put together a computer project no one will ever forget, if seen only once.

Done like you’ve never seen before. This video from the small Yupiq Esk

Love and Lightimo Village of Quinhagak, Alaska , was a school computer project intended for the other Yupiq villages in the area. Much to the villagers’ shock, over a half million people have viewed it.
