CONCEPTION DAY / ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Beloved,

What do you think of this weather? Here it is the middle of March
and we have 60 and 70 degree weather. I don’t know about you.
but I am loving it. I love going outside without a jacket and the
sun really brings up the feeling of newness and hope. I even
put my lounge chairs on my deck and go out to eat my salad
every day. I promised myself I would go and sit at least once
a day no matter what is going on in my life. How about you?
Have you promised yourself a treat everyday? What is your
treat? I would love to know what gift you are giving yourself.

It is an unusual time of the year for the lake also. It never
completely froze over except for a thin sheet of ice which
happened several times but not one ice fisherman or
snowmobiler was able to use it. Even the ducks are
different, the transient ones I mean. I did see about
6 of the hooded mergansers but there are about 16
different mergansers. The males are mostly white with
some back and the females are a rustic brown with a
pointed head and they look just like the redbreasted
merganser picture but the book does not show the
male so I am not sure just what their real name is. I
enjoy watching them dive for their food and they go
different places in the lake to feed. I can almost see
the current is different where they are feeding so the
fish must be moving around . Of course, Oscar (I
call him that) the seagull hangs around to see if he
can scoff up or steal some of their prize.

Talking about our beloved planet, Mother Earth,
reminds me of a very special opportunity we have
to share our love for her. Conception Day is a day
for all of us to come together in the intent to help
and change the world and the people who she
graciously allows to inhabit her.

Imagine 100 million of us gathering in a shared
commitment to birth a healthy, sustainable,
peaceful, and prosperous world.

PS: Conception Day 2012 is the launch of the
breakthrough book by Barbara Marx Hubbard,

I did not do my TV show last week because of what I look
like now. My yoga teacher said I look like a prize fighter….
the one that lost. I have been told that I look like a doll with
painted eyebrows. I know people are looking at me strangely
and they avert their eyes instead of looking into mine. The
surgery to fix my drooping eyelid which was interfering with
my vision went well. Of course, they had to do surgery above
both eyebrows so they would balance and what is weird is
that the one that did not need fixing had more soreness
and more red eyelids and red below the eyes.

I will do my show today but as yet do not know how I
am going to camouflage the thinner red lines of surgery
above my eyebrows or the red eyelids or the red under
my eyes. I need to play with makeup (not my forte) and
see what it will look like. If I cannot hide it, I will just
explain it like I am doing to you. It has been quite the
experience but actually a good one.

For the first time in 35 years, I had anesthesia that did
not incapacitate me for weeks. I woke up from it
feeling good and that is continuing. The first day
after the surgery, I could see, I mean I could see
really good. With all the swelling I am back to not
seeing as well but I KNOW what is coming and I
will be able to see clearly again. What a gift!

The stitches were removed yesterday and it was
painless, that was so good. Instead of the large
black lines, it is reduced to a thinner red line which
will disappear in time. I was told by the surgeon
that because the skin is much thicker there, it
will take longer for the final healing to take place
but it was a success. If you come to the 4th Annual
Holistic and Wellness Expo this weekend being held
in Twin River, Rhode Island, you will see what I am
talking about. Stop and say Hi and be prepared to
chuckle.

As you’re aware, St. Patrick’s Day is quickly
approaching. Even if you’re not Irish, you get an
Irish Blessing. So here it is. It is yours for the rest
of the year.

May your blessings outnumber
The Shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go!

This is beautiful!
As the piece starts, the pictures of Ireland are amazing, but wait until you get to the two spoken parts!

A VISION AND SWANS ON THE LAKE

I had an experience which I would dearly love to share with
you. I just do not know that I can put into words what I felt
and saw. Have you ever had a moment that was so profound
you wanted to share it with the world or at least your closest
friends? Were you able to articulate what you felt?

This past week I woke one morning and, as usual, the first thing
I do is open the blinds so I can what kind of a day it is. I did not
notice anything unusual and since it was my day to go to yoga
class, I did not dilly dally along. I did my toiletries and next on
my daily agenda is prayer and meditation. I went into my living
room where my altar and meditation chair are but first I always
raise the shades so I can look out my bow window to see what is
happening on the lake.

I felt like I was pushed back into another time and place. I have
lived here for 14 years and have never seen the lake look like this.
I am used to seeing the lake looking like glass with the sun shining
and the water a mirror for everything around the lake. I love it and
it always stirs my heart when it happens. I would like to say it happens
every morning but in actuality, the sun is not always out or the water is
choppy because of the wind. The lake has a personality that differs from
day to day and moment to moment during the day.

The sun was not out this morning and there was fog so that the furthest
mountains were shielded from view. The water was so still and so was
the air, no movement was perceivable. Not only was the water reflecting
all the homes, docks and everything else around the lake but it was also
reflecting the fog. The mirror image of the fog was surrounding the homes
and mountains reflected on the water. I noticed that the mirror images were
more defined than the actual physicality. The tops of the trees were more
defined in the water than they were just standing there on the shore.

I was transported into an experience I am having a problem describing,
I was IMMERSED in the feeling. I did not use my binoculars as the magic
was in the totality and huge expanse of the whole. I forced myself to
focus on the individual images but could not maintain that focus. I
had to see the whole of what it was to participate in the joy and awe.

Suddenly, I noticed the buoys in the water which were not, of course, on
the land and a big AHA moment came into my being. AS ABOVE, SO
BELOW. I am sure you have heard that expression. Which reality was
real? ABOVE was heaven and BELOW was the earth. Yet the earth was
mirroring heaven except for some glitches in the creation such as the buoys.

Above us (heaven) is the perfection of creation, all is as it is supposed to be.
We humans(earth) are a reflection of that perfection but we have super-
imposed our own ideas of what should be so we have added a human
touch to what was originally perfection. Neither is right nor wrong, it
just is our perception that is different.

As you can see, I am struggling to share my deepest interpretation of
this experience which defies description. I only wish I could share
the enormity of that moment. In fact, as I was preparing to leave
shortly, I had to pull myself away so I could be on time for yoga.
That “enlightment” stayed with me for hours though. I tried to
share it with my yoga instructor. I know she “FELT” what I was
trying to convey even though I just could not totally put it into words.

This morning, I received another gift from the lake. I am so blessed to
now have the time (most of the time) to ponder the messages I am
receiving from above. My sincerest wish is that you have a moment
to ponder the miracles that are there for you to see in every moment. It
might not be a lake, but it could be a tree, flower, bird, plant, person
that wakes you up to the beauty that is there for you to see if you just
take the time to be aware of what is actually in front of you. I still practice
being in the moment as often as I can.

When I opened my blind this morning, I could see a lot of white things out on
the lake but could not see what they were. I went to my bow window and
pulled out my trusty binoculars which are used quite often in this season for
the migratory life that shows up. I could not believe my eyes, the white
things were SWANS, 18 of them. 1+8=9 and 9 is the number of completion.
I took this as a sign that I had completed a phase of my spiritual growth.

In 14 years, there was only one appearance of a swan who stayed for two
weeks. I so loved watching him/her. But 18 of them???? After I enjoyed
watching them for a while, I went to the book Animal-Speak by Ted
Andrews which includes a comprehensive dictionary of animal, bird and
reptile symbolism. A swan’s key note is: Awakening theTrue Beauty and
Power of Self and the cycle of power is: Winter. Wow, Wow, Wow.

The swan is one of the most powerful and ancient of totems(symbols).
This is reflected in its name. It is one of the oldest names in the English
language, and is has come down un-changed since AngloSaxon times.
For those with this totem, the emotions will become more sensitive, and
you will find yourself becoming more sensitive to the emotions of others,
as well.

The neck of the swan is long and graceful. It is one of the swan’s most
distinguishing features. The neck is a bridge area between the head
(higher realms) and the body (lower worlds). In the swan totem, as you
begin to realize your own true beauty, you unfold the ability to bridge to
new realms and new powers. This ability to awaken to the inner beauty
and bridge it to the outer world is part of what swan medicine can
teach. It can show how to see the inner beauty within yourself or in
others, regardless of outer appearances. When we are capable of this,
we become a magnet to others. This is reflected in the familiar story by
Hans Christian Anderssen, “The Ugly Duckling.”

Have you ever felt like an ugly duckling? Have you ever felt so different
from those around you? Know that there is a beautiful swan inside of you
and let it show to all around you. You too can be a bridge!

My wish for you is to see the beautiful swan inside yourself and be
transported to the magic and love for yourself.

Swan Lake, as you have never seen it performed.

Well Worth watching – surprises.

NATURAL LIVING EXPO AND ME

I am writing this newsletter a little early because I have a
BIG weekend coming up. I will be a speaker and have a
booth at the Natural Living Expo on Sept 25 &26, 2010.

I am busily preparing for this event, yet the lake drew me
out in my kayak. The lake has been so still all day, hardly
a breeze to ripple the beautiful mirroring effect of all the
trees in their glorious colors as background for all the
homes on the other side of the lake which were reflected
on the water. It is so unusual to be kayaking on a mirror
and quite a different experience so I seized the moment
and went out.

With hardly any wind, it is so much easier kayaking with no
resistance that I was hoping to go around the whole lake
which has been rare for me this year as my shoulder is
still recovering from my fall earlier in the year. My
favorite places to go to is the two coves at one end of
the lake. When I got to the first one, the geese were
there so I honored my commitment to them that if they
stayed off my beach I would not disturb them if I saw
them as I kayaked. So….on I went to the next cove and
that one also had quite a few geese so I moved on. There
are more of them as they are gathering to practice their
flight patterns for their annual migration.

I did get to go around the whole lake which is such a treat.
Many of the boats have already been pulled in and housed
for the winter and some of the homes are closed for the
season. More and more cabins are being converted to
year round homes so there are less closed homes. This
is a bittersweet time for me as I actually have the lake to
myself so the peace and quiet is unbelievable . Even the
birds are not chirping and I did not cross the path
of the beaver that likes to slap his tail at me.

A moment in time to remember for the future when the
lake is frozen and although others like ice fishermen and
ice skaters and snow mobilers are active, I do not go
out on the lake. I feel such love and appreciation for
Mother Nature as she transforms once again.

If you are coming to the Expo, I am in
Booth #10 and I will be giving my talk and workshop
on Love Is Enlightment at noon on Saturday in the Executive
Suite. I will also be offering Loving Advice from the Mother
(who is the Divine Feminine, Mother Mary) at my booth.
I would love to give you a hug if you are able to
make it, please stop by and say HI.
