We can all collectively take a big deep breath and relax.
The elections are over for another two years and there is
no bombardment of scathing and degrading commercials
depicting the other party as downright unconstitutional
or immoral or inhumane.
This election year was a time for us as US citizens to
be ashamed of our leadership. Rather than tell us what
they could do for us as citizens, they spent millions of
dollars telling us the evil that awaited us if we voted for
whoever was opposing them. Can you just imagine what
that amount of money could have done for the poor and
the children and the elderly?
I know we have Freedom of Speech and I value that but
there are laws against slander. How come the politicians
do not have to abide by the very laws that they had a part
in passing as legislation? Have you ever considered what
elections would look like if there were no more Parties, either
Republican, Democrat or Independent? We would then be
able to cast our vote according to what that person has to
offer to all of us Americans. What freedom that would be.
Are they our models to imitate? I certainly hope not. How
can the rest of humanity even look at us as leaders. Our
leaders do not know how to lead us into peace when they
cannot even model that attribute for us. They were more
concerned about getting even rather than compromising for
the good of the people. Phew!! Just writing about such
abhorrent behavior stirs the disgust in me all over again.
Now that this bloodbath is over, we can begin anew. I hope
we now have the opportunity to create peace and unity in our
government with each side willing to listen to the other and
then, with the strengths of each side, come to a compromise.
Let’s blur the PARTY lines and be human as well as wise
and compassionate. Let bygones be bygones.
There is a special date coming up11/11 and it has many
meanings to different folks. This is a date that Spirit has
designated where each and every person can stop for a
moment and remember those who gave their lives and
the ultimate love that they and their families exhibited to
us and the whole world. They showed us the true meaning
of being human in their bodies and LOVE in their Spirit.
I am proud to call them American as they truly represented
what being American means. And…..they were from all different
cultures, backgrounds, denominations and beliefs. Remember
how they drew the country to rally around and support each
other?
