SEIZE THE MOMENT

Have you ever wanted to do something, something that
would make you happy to do? Then you tell yourself
that there are things that need to be done instead? You
figure you will be able to do it later and later never comes?

Well, I just came in from kayaking on my beautiful lake. This
is only the second time I have been out this year because I kept
doing the above. I made the decision to seize the moment and
do it now while the water was like a mirror. It was a little cooler,
like 55 degrees but once it warms to 70 degrees, the wind picks
up and I lose the chance to do it exactly when I want to.

The main reason to live on a lake is so you can go out exactly
when you want to but what stops you? Your mind tells you
that there is something more pressing or more important to do
or that you have certain obligations that are more important.
I am retired so I “should” be able to do exactly what I want
yet my training puts other things or people first.

The people who love me want me to be happy and would
not want me to put off what makes me so happy. When I
am happy, everyone around me is happy because it is
contagious. I am putting myself first and living in the
moment now so I can enjoy exactly what today has in
store for me. Will you join me?

The first time I went out in the kayak this year, there were no
boats launched or moored on the lake. All the boats were up
for storage and I went only halfway around the lake. I need to
build up my muscles and also get calluses on the inside of my
thumbs from using the oars. The first time is like being free for
the first time in your life. You can go anywhere you wish and
do not have to obey the rules that tell you you can only be on
the right side of the lake. There are rules on the lake just like
on the road where you have to drive on the right side.

Today was just perfect. The water was like a mirror so it gives
you a different illusion as you look out and see the trees and the
houses mirrored in the lake and that doubles the effect. I could
go left from my beach and proceed to my favorite coves. Having
no boat traffic meant I could go there first instead of having to go
around the whole lake to get to them. There are only a few
pontoons boats moored now and one speed boat. I went
completely around the lake this morning.

All I could think about is how each time I go out on the
lake is so much like watching the birth of a baby and
then watching it grow up in all it’s stages. Each time is
different and I try to be aware of the differences so I
can more appreciate the beauty of this special time
each and every time I go out.

I was able to stay closer to shore to see more details as there
are no buoys out yet to protect the swimmers from the boats
and even most of the docks are not lowered down yet. There
are no water lilys yet which means I can go further into the
coves. With my kayak I am able to go places where the
speed boats and the pontoon boats cannot because of the
shallow water. There are no dragonflies yet and the weeds
are drying on the shore which came from the deep raking that
is done each spring to clean the swimming area of the yucky
weeds that tangle in your feet and legs.

The homes around the lake are just like a small town…varied.
There are homes that money built in many sizes and styles,
there are everyday homes like a ranch, etc. and there are
cottages. Some are used all year and some are just summer
homes which people use to escape the heat and these are
all different with each one having their own personality just
like their owners. We all have one thing in common though,
we just love the lake and all that it contributes to our well
being and it is a wonderful place to share with family and friends
who also enjoy Mother Nature.

I was even able to go under several trees that are leaning over the
water, it felt like a canopy above me. What a feeling. But…
most of all I could send the feeling of peace and contentment out
to all humanity on this planet. When I am immersed in nature
and in this love, I like to spread it around to the whole world.
The world and its humanity can feel this energy even when
they do not recognize where it is coming from. You can do
this also not just me. When you are feeling these wonderful
emotions which are energy, just take a moment and set the
intention of sharing it with everyone else on this planet.

How often do you allow yourself to feel love and peace? I bet
more often than you realize. Just holding the hand of your child
or grandchild or loved one gives you this feeling. Helping
someone else can also be used. Being grateful for what
you have in the moment is also powerful. Make a list of
the ways you can experience these emotions and then
send them out over the airways to others.

It only takes being consciously aware of what we are
feeling in the moment and sending it on. It costs nothing
to do and guess what? The energy you send out comes
back to you. It cannot help it because it is a law of nature.
What you give comes back to you, the law of reciprocity .

This is also my favorite time of watching birds. Two weeks
ago, my first hummingbird came and the next day, the
Baltimore Orioles came. I have more Orioles this year,
it must be the babies from last year came back. I put out
jelly and that draws them like crazy. They love it but this
year I have quite a few catbirds coming for the jelly too.
I have been filling the dishes sometimes twice a day.

I decided to put out the oriole feeders that hold the sugar
water to see if I could get them to use those, the catbirds
cannot use them and it might cut down on the amount of
jelly I need to put out. Last year I only had one or two
catbirds but this year I have around a dozen. The orioles
are starting to use the sugar water feeders when I run out
of jelly so I feel more relaxed now about the jelly. When it
rains, the jelly gets washed away. With the sugar water
they will have something to eat every day and I won’t have
to keep going out to fill the jelly feeders in the rain.

I have a bouquet in my lawn. The beautiful yellow dandelions,
small purple flowers I think are miniature violets and small
white flowers as well as a thick and luscious lawn that has had
to be mowed three times already. . Isn’t spring wonderful?
I so love going outside and I feel so free, free of coats and
heavy clothes and free to walk everywhere I choose.

I received this email with information that I was not aware of.
I want to share it with you in case you are unaware also.

What is the difference between http and https ?
Don’t know how many of you are aware of this difference,
but it is worth sending to any that do not…..

The main difference between http:///and https :// is it’s
all about keeping you secure. HTTP stands for Hyper
Text Transfer Protocol.

The S (big surprise) stands for “Secure”.. If you visit a
website or web page, and look at the address in the web
browser, it will likely begin with the following: http:///.
This means that the website is talking to your browser
using the regular “unsecured” language. In other words,
it is possible for someone to “eavesdrop” on your
computer’s conversation with the website. If you fill out
a form on the website, someone might see the information
you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number
in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://,
that basically means your computer is talking to the website
in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.

You understand why this is so important, right?

If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card
information, you should automatically look to see if the
web address begins with http s ://.

If it doesn’t, you should NEVER enter sensitive information….
such as a credit card number, SS # etc.

PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief)

Love and Light
