Mother Nature at her finest

The sun is exposed, hurrah!!!

Mother Nature has been almost impossible to predict as far
as weather patterns. She is constantly fooling the weathermen .

Here in the Northeast, we have had more rainy and cloudy
days than ever before. Here we are in July and having nights
in the 40’s and even if it does not rain, it is cloudy.

Enough about the weather, I believe we are all sick of hearing
the forecasts. The sun never goes away but it does get covered
with clouds. I for one am happy that today it is exposed.

It is so nice today that I am having a difficult time writing
this newsletter. My body wants to go out in the sun even if
it is to do outside work. I hate to admit it but my brain and
my intuition seem to have taken a vacation.

I am wishing you a sunny day and time to go out to play.

I am going outside to play (work) and will send another newsletter
when my brain gets into gear.

Signers of the Declaration of Independence

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

I am a senior citizen and was not aware of all that our
forefathers did for us. As the generations keep getting
further and further away from America’s conception,
we lose appreciation for what our forebears gave up
so we could enjoy freedom and the fruits of their labor.

It just does not come into our consciousness. When I
received this information, it brought me to tears and
a deep gratitude for what was given so that I might
enjoy the life I have now.

Let us remember and give thanksgiving for the
tremendous insight and dedication of the signers
of the Declaration of Independence. Would you

CONSIDER THE COST

And now some history. A good read.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men
who signed the Declaration of Independence ?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,
and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;
another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or
hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes,
and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large
plantation owners; men of means, well educated,
but they signed the Declaration of Independence
knowing full well that the penalty would be death if
they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and
trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the
British Navy. He sold his home and properties to
pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British
that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.
He served in the Congress without pay, and his family
was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,
and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer,
Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that
the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson
home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General
George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed,
and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying.
Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill
were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests
and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his
children vanished.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and
silently thank these patriots. It’s not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free!

I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many
people as you can, please. It’s time we get the word out that patriotism
is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer,
picnics, and baseball games.

to the high notes on the trumpet, played by a high school kid! One of
the fathers recorded it, added some graphic enhancements to the

We are the WORLD!

We are the WORLD! Everyone of us feels separate or alone
too many times. Why does it take a death of a loved one for us
to wake up and realize that there are many fellow sojourners on
Earth just like us, going through so many of the same feelings?

All we need do is reach out and someone will take our hand.
Usually, it is someone you never expected or even someone
you did not know before.

I apologize for being late with this newsletter, you have never
left my mind as I thought of you and joined with you in the mourning
of Michael Jackson. He is free from all pain now even as we are left
in pain at his departure from this physical domain.

Let us appreciate all he has shared with us, it was his mission and
he did it well.

I so wanted to share with you some of what he left for us to hear
perhaps with a more vulnerable heart now. We take for granted
what is with us until it is no longer in the physical.
