Today is a rainy day and only in the upper 60″s with last night being in
the lower 50″s. God knows we need the rain and although I prefer
a sunny Sunday, there is something quite comforting about going back
to bed for another hour and then putting on a turtleneck under your
sweats and settling down for a day of reading and in this instance,
conversing with you.
I am still enjoying my new vehicle and learning the things that I was
never aware it could do. Do you know I have a gauge that tells
me when a tire has low pressure? I would not have paid for a
sunroof if it was a new car but this vehicle came with it. I never
realized that you could “tilt” a sunroof so only a little sound of the
wind enters my senses. I do not like open windows or an open
sunroof as the noise is so loud from the rushing air. My car is
like a cocoon to me and I usually spend my time in it listening to
informational and inspirational CD’s and when I am done this
particular series, I hope to listen to some old cassette tapes of
talks, conferences and events that I have not listened to in years.
Imagine having the option of a CD player AND a cassette player
in the same vehicle. Can you see I have been “playing”?
I had some pin striping and another design put on the sides of
my car and it looks classy. Of course, purple was what I wanted but
there are not too many purple designs to choose from. I did get some
purple and silver as my RAV 4 is silver and it certainly makes it
uniquely mine. My signature is on it as well as my violet seat covers
fit so I have brought violet into the interior of it as well.
I had an angel decal put on my spare tire, it is outside above the
rear bumper with a silver plastic cover. I have two purple ovals
with a white angel on them but they are magnetized so they would
not stick. I chose a white oval with an angel in three shades of
purple for my new one. I got home and I just could not be
content with the angel. It did not radiate peace and comfort as
I had wanted, it was too lively.
I wanted the angel to be calming and comforting to anyone following
me, not enlivening. We need more peace on the road as people are
always rushing to where they are going instead of taking the time to
smell the roses. Finally, I called the sign maker and found out that
I could actually remove it if I chose, with no stickiness or damage
to the cover. I liked the angel and did not want to destroy it but
where could I put it? I was inspired (did she inspire me?) to put
it on the back of my kayak. My kayak is a single person one so
now I have a beloved companion to share my water travels with
and she just so goes with the energy of a kayak.
This week I will be creating another angel to go on my vehicle
and I will probably go back to the white angel on a violet
background. Most people seem to enjoy that one and I
too resonate with that. Yesterday I had a keyless entry with alarm
and starter added to it so I now have a new toy to play with, to
figure out how to do what I want it to do. A bonus was that the
installer came to my house so I did not have to drop off my car
for four hours. Boy, am I getting spoiled or what?
A strange thing happened to me this morning as I sat in meditation.
The first thing I do in the morning (after a trip to the bathroom) is
to go to my altar and pray and meditate. I was in a deep meditation
when I started hearing a faint crying sound. I tried to ignore it but
my heart kept saying perhaps something was in trouble. It was not
the sound of a baby or child, more of an animal, but it was something
I had never in my life heard before. I wondered if it was a bird like a
cat bird whose call sounds like a cat or was it a bird who mimics other
sounds. Was it an animal?….but what kind?
I finally roused myself out of meditating to at least check it out. I
looked out my bow window but did not see anything so I opened
the door onto the deck and I could hear it clearly. I looked and
I looked but did not go out as it was raining. I finally spotted a
squirrel sitting just under the railing with its tail towards me but
I could not tell if it was that animal that was making the sound.
I came back to looking out the window and kept staring at the
squirrel to see if its body was moving as I kept hearing this crying.
I finally was able to see its body heaving as it made the sound.
I tell you it was heart wrenching. My first thought was to comfort it
so I began sending loving Reiki energy to it through the window.
I did this for about 5 minutes and suddenly it turned, looked at me
and went scampering away. The crying stopped. I had no idea why
it had been making that eerie sound that I was not ever aware of
but then I wondered if it was a message for me. When something
unusual happens, it is usually a message for us. I can still hear and
feel the sound it was making.
I went to my Animal-Speak book by Ted Andrews where he gives
the meaning of different animals, birds and insects. A squirrel’s
keynote is: Activity and Preparedness and the cycle of power is
Year-round. Squirrels are observant and imitative, and they learn
best by doing rather than by studying. They can teach us balance
within the circle of gathering and giving out. If we are doing too
much of one or the other, squirrel may appear to help us. Squirrels
are masters at preparing but they also are reminders that in our
quest for our goals, we should always make time to socialize and
play. Perhaps this is the message that I was meant to send to you.
I have a couple of tidbits I’d like to share with you.
I haven’t tried this myself, but……
Here is something you will want to have and use! I still remember when the telephone company charged me $0.00 now they charge $1.00 to $1.50 to get a phone number from information.
Just leave it up to Google to come up with something like this!!!
Here’s a number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial:
1-800-goog411 (18004664411)
This is an awesome service from Google, and it’s free — great when you are driving on the road with no pen, pencil or paper handy.
Don’t waste your money on information calls and don’t waste your time manually dialing the number. I am driving along in my car and I need to call the golf course and I don’t know the number. I hit the speed dial for Information that I have programmed.
The voice at the other end says, “City & State.” I say, ” Garland , Texas .”He says, “Business, Name or Type of Service.” I say, Firewheel Golf Course.” He says, “Connecting” and Firewheel answers the phone. How great is that?
This is nationwide and it is absolutely free!

Subj: Analysis of Catholicism

I wish every Catholic could read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jewish Sam Miller on Catholics.
Excerpts of an article written by non-Catholic Sam Miller – a prominent
Cleveland Jewish businessman:
“Why would newspapers carry on a vendetta on one of the most important
institutions that we have today in the United States , namely the Catholic
Church?
Do you know – the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at
the cost to that Church of 10 billion dollars, and a savings on the other
hand to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars. The graduates go on to
graduate studies at the rate of 92%.
The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment
of 700,000 students.
The Catholic Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which
account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people – not just
Catholics – in the United States today.
But the press is vindictive and trying to totally denigrate in every way the
Catholic Church in this country. They have blamed the disease of pedophilia
on the Catholic Church, which is as irresponsible as blaming adultery on the
institution of marriage!
Let me give you some figures that Catholics should know and remember.
For example, 12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse
with a parishioner; 38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a
study by the United Methodist Church , 41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual> behavior; 17% of laywomen have been sexually harassed.
Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia.
10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia. This> is not a Catholic Problem. It is a culture problem.
A study of American priests showed that most are happy in the priesthood and
find it even better than they had expected, and that most, if given the choice,
would choose to be priests again in face of all this obnoxious PR the church has
been receiving.
The Catholic Church is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds. The agony that
Catholics have felt and suffered is not necessarily the fault of the Church.
Millions have been hurt by a small number of wayward priests who have probably
been totally weeded out by now.
Walk with your shoulders high and your head higher. Be a proud member of the
most important non-governmental agency in the United States . Then remember
what Jeremiah said: ‘Stand by the roads, and look and ask for the ancient
paths, where the good way is and walk in it, and find rest for your souls’.
Be proud to speak up for your faith with pride and reverence and learn what
your Church does for all other religions.
Be proud that you’re a Catholic.”
